Im not convinced. It seems overkill with the recent Soundwave reissue and MP3 soundwave.

Also there's been a conciderably larger amount talk in the rumor mills about Grim being the next one.

Also we must be due another bot now, as the cons outnumber the bots (mold wise).

Sorry, but I've just spoken to my source* and been told MP07 will definitely be Rodimus Prime. He won't have a Matrix or rifle, but he will have a soundchip that says some of your favorite Rodimus quotes. Lines such as "We're gonna get killed," "Ggggghh! *choking sounds*," "I'm not the leader you were" and "Goddamn, I suck so much ass**" mean you can recreate all Rodney's greatest moments.

Although a huge Soundwave figure would look great, doesn't Soundwave have too simple transformation to be a Masterpiece figure?

I would perfer Grimlock. Simply beacuse his bot mode doesn't look so...umoriginal...

Who said MPs had to have complex transformations? I thought MPs were about accuracy, random episode-accurate weapons and gimmicks, hydraulics in the joints, fantastic articulation pointless bits that do nothing more than show off Takara's engineering skills (Prime's leg vents, SS's radar thing etc.) huge size, and die cast metal. Soundwave could have all those things without having a complex transformation.

Although, they always could make it complex. G1 Prime/Starscream weren't very complex but look at what Takare did with them.

MP Chip FTW!!

I'd be thrilled if it were Soundwave. Between the Masterpiece line and the Binaltech line, pretty much all of the important Season 1 characters would be represented. If they'd just repaint Skids into Ironhide and Ratchet, I'd be all set.

I would like another 'bot sometime soon.

We already have an MP speculation thread. This thread is for discussing the RUMOR that the next MP will be Soundwave. This is why ths thread is not front paged yet as it is not confirmed. And if we had to wait for every confirmed RUMOR it would be pretty boring.

To all those who just don't think a MP Soundwave could work:


I'm sure Takara can pull off a MP Soundwave. If a fan could do it, they could. That Soundwave custom belongs to tfmaster. If you were wondering, it does play mp3s.

Soundwave was so close to perfect the first time out. All I can see them doing is giving him knee joints, articulated hands, and a movable face plate. Now Rumble and Frenzy could be gold if they are given the MP treatment as well.
