Tekka wrote:Hmm, I guess that's true. But it'd be hard for me to see them as anything less than friends. There should always be some camaraderie even between the villains, I like to think the only reason Thundercracker is there is because of Skywarp's stubborn blind hero worship of Megatron.
Anyhoo, this is all subjective, and I don't want to derail the topic.
Tekka wrote:The only problem with him playing tapes would be.... they're tapes. =( A discreet SD slot linked to a small MP3 Player would be just fine.
Tekka wrote:Make him play actual tapes. That would be a true masterpiece. :P Or failing that, give him an SD slot somewhere. :D
skywarp-2 wrote:I wouldn't want them to have to compromise on the design of Soundwave to incoroiporate the gimmicks and electronics of making him a working tape deck.. however I hope they incorporate an extra space for the tapes themselves, like to have maybe 2 carried in his chest.. but then again having the chest prongs there would make him authentic...
skywarp-2 wrote:AlienQuiksilver wrote:I'd rather get TC out of the way now ... rather than the possibility of him remain looming over our heads. This way, we'd know that something "new" would be coming out next.
That's just me though.
that idea wouldn't be so bad.. or Rodimus Prime then thundercracker.. but it kinda defeats the purpose I guess of releasing him later when everyone kinda thinks of them together..as partners or something.. truth is, Skywarp really detested Thundercracker and Starscream...
I think he was more about Megatron...
Or Megatron was his Bitch....
Dagon wrote:Very intriguing, the working Soundwave idea. But, all things considered, I have a tape deck already. In reality, if MP Soundwave was a working tape deck, I probably wouldn't buy him becuase that just sounds tacked on to me. MP Megatron isn't a working firearm, so real functionality isn't a built-in MP component. Just saying, the MP3 Soundwave is an awesome idea.
But I don't need a big working tape deck with a $100 price tag. I didn't spend $100 on a tape deck in the 80s when tape decks were expensive.

In that case, we don't have to incorporate the MP3 either. Since he won't be a real working music player. Instead, maximize on the transformation and gimmicks.

What would be the point of him play tapes? It's a long dead format and would be essentially worthless. I agree that he should have a tape area for Ravage or Lazerbeak, etc. But if he's going to play music, a card slot or internal memory (HD or flash) for MP3s would be good.

Why have him play music at all? We already have a Sound Label version for just that purpose. Put the money towards making Soundwave a kick ass mold, make Laserbeak/whoever transformable tapes like the original and leave it at that.

Agreed. I was just saying "if". I don't need a masterpiece to actually be a working radio, tape player, or MP3 player. The original wasn't, why should a Masterpiece?

You had me convinced. Ditch the music. Focus on making MP Soundwave a real Masterpiece!

Yeah, now let's hope it actually happens. Just watch, after all this, it'll be MP Wheelie.

Holy crap! They better leave out the sounds gimmick!

That isnt called irony. Its called hasbro/takara business practices. My bet is on another repaint. Probably Nemesis Prime or Thundercracker.

That wouldn't deter me. I would probably keep him in his robot mode most of the time.
Unless they modify his alt mode into some bigger boombox, but still maintain the G1 robot design.
