Oh man. Remember the last BBTS could kill a puma if you threw it at him haul? Believe it or not, the G2asor set was the first thing I openeditscramtastic wrote:Ooooooooh how is that set for G2asor?! Mine is still in my PoL!!

It's really spectacular. Not upset about paying legit prices at all. Though a KO woulda been nice...
Fruits needs some G2 Con Repro's (on the way) and one of these. So sadly it'll be months before he's truely completeCobotron wrote:What's left for Fruits?

Don't even think, just do it. At the KO prices, you can't afford not to!Cobotron wrote:I'm considering picking up the Sups kit for my Sky Lynx with G2 Arielbot limbs.

Mmmmmkay. Lets talk Movie The Best shall we?
Megatron. My gawd. The paint apps on this guy are simply stunning. Movie the best indeed! The mold itself is kinda odd, but not bad. Legs are a little odd to pose, and I wish the cool thing is arm did didn't require extending to do. Like, to have the blade out his arm needs to be straight. But, the result is cool anyways. And he transforms into a... thing. Turtle tank thing? Iunno. It's fine I guess

Moving on, the other dude!
Evasion Mode Optimus Prime version 37.0 is probably the best one, and easily the best bang for the buck. The closest thing to this version is the Milk Magazine version, which is very rare and expensive, so I've got a comparison between the two.

MB Starscream. I'ma start by saying that I've always and to this day, still love the first movie SS mold. And this doesn't trump my love for it, but I do really like this update. The transformation is really unique, and forms a beautifully sleek jet, which is something his predecessor couldn't do. Much love

Soundwave.... ugh...
Car mode looks amazing. Alternator quality almost. But the t ransformation... is a nightmare. Notice there's only one pic? He came in car mode, I didn't snap a shot, and after the work (and confusion) of getting him to bot mode I wasn't about to go back.
If you transform his legs first, you'll see that 80% of the car still remains. So once you're done, you're left with a very top heavy bot. But to his credit, he's pretty stable, but his legs need tome serious bulk. And a lot of the pieces that make up his arms don't have locking tabs, But again to his credit, nothing feels floppy. All said and done, he does have a pretty bot mode like his MB leader. So I guess I'm happy?

Shockwave!
So I've mentioned before that I skipped the toy lines of ROTF and DOTM almost entirely, so these molds are all new to me. But Shocky is one of the figures I regularly picked up in the store and really wanted to take a risk on. Turns out! He's ok
Welcome to another thing mode! Meh, doesn't bug me. It's not an earth mode, he's an alien, he can be as weird as he wants. The robot mode and transformation is kinda odd, kinda neat, and kinda limiting. Not bad, but not great. I am glad this is the version I bought though

Holy. This figure. A little back story:
I bought almost all the first Bayformers (twice actually because of the later released "Premium" repaints) so for subsequent movies I didn't bother. I thought, hell I don't need to buy them all a third time, so I only bought the odd one here and there, mostly new cast additions.
For some reason I jumped head first into AOE (probably because YAY OMG DINOBOTS) and heard a lot of chatter about the dumbed down transformations. I didn't think they were that bad besides Backpackimus Prime. But now that I'm experiencing these new (to me) DOTM and ROTF figures.... I can see why people were upset. The complexity is just outstanding, and this Prime is the tops. He can be a little fiddly (the automorph chest) and I'm surprised he only comes with one set of sharpy knuckles, but damn. I'm impressed, and I can't even picture them being able to achieve his ridiculous screen appearance better than this.

Probably the one weapon I wish I had gotten with a Prime: the knuckles. I love those things! Now we just need a suitable transformer that has a part of his torso transform out so it can look as if Prime is punching through his side! (MP Prime I think might work...)

Wouldn't that be prolific?? New Prime gouging a hole out of Classic Primes side, with spiky knuckles, to death. Cause we all know he's die from that

MOVIE.
THE.
BEST!!
These dang movie figures. Maybe I'll stick with the deluxe/voyager/leader setup just for sanity's sake. I really like that Shockwave, and the only Evasion Optimus I want is how he looked in the movie!! He may be arriving in the next month....
Anywho! I miss that voyager Starscream!! And I missed out on that voyager Megatron! Hmmmmmm....

Hmmmm... what next what next...
Might as well wrap things up with my movie toys, and open the door to the KO world with KO OS Lockdown! It's quite funny how a week after I get this guy, some jaw dropping pics are shown of a new 3P Movie Lockdown, but I digress. This guy is a more suitable size, has diecast, two heads, and was like 30 CAD shipped. With that, there's not much to complain about. And the quality is decent. Little loose, but not bad. I'd say he's worth the gamble

I thought that might be Lockdown! He looks BAD ASS in yer pics, shaj.
It gets harder everytime I see more quality 3P to be allzabout Hasbro/Takara...but I enjoy all TFs, both official and otherwise.
The only thing I got coming in the mail is MMC's Boreas, aka Cyclonus FUSION (of G1 & MTMTE). Not too many fans, but I can diggit -- I only wish his MTMTE face could have both horns without modification.

I see 3P as gap fillers. The second Hastak steps up and fills them themselves, I always buy and replace my 3P's with the official offering. So in my case, Hastak always has my supportbodrock wrote:It gets harder everytime I see more quality 3P to be allzabout Hasbro/Takara...but I enjoy all TFs, both official and otherwise.
