So with Amazon Unicron being so rare will it surpass the secondary prices of takara 2010 Unicron?

I've checked ebay trying to buy the awesome Takara 2010 Unicron takara toy. the asking price seems to be around $199 for a MISB boxed version.

I'm just curious what was the first asking price of Takara's 2010 Unicron. that sites like BBTS.com,TFSource,captured prey,etc.. first had it listed for in their first pre-orders price. I think the price MIGHT have been around $119.

So my question is with amazon.com being sold out of their unicron's. being that this toy was so rare & was made in low volume units. will TF fans actually be willing to pay $199 For this toy. or is it more inferior in colors & less screen accurate thus it won't be worth as much as takara 2010 unicron.

I'm not referring to individual sellers on amazon selling amazon unicron,i'm referring to amazon's stock of amazon unicron being sold out. I fully realize the individual sellers on amazon.com have plenty of amazon-unicron's in stock.

Personally,i'm gonna be extremly honest here. I have a amazon-unicron & might hold on to it till it reaches the $199 price on the secondary market. once this happens,i'll sell amazon-unicron for $199 & use the money to get myself my more desired takara 2010 unicron.

I noticed the armada & universe unicron's went down in secondary market prices. but the takara 2010 unicron has not went down in secondary market prices. I guess similar to the botcon ebay sellers,their willing to wait months/years to sell their items & won't go down in price.

The reason,I want to sell amazon-unicron is because I dislike the shinny grey torso. the grey torso sticks out like a sore thumb & doesn't blend in very well with the orange colors. the grey torso & orange limbs make this toy look like a FRANKENSTEIN MIXED parts transformers. I thought about taking the orange-yellow torso from my display shelf armada unicron & swapping it out with the grey torso. to make my amazon-unicron look a bit better. BUT DOING THIS WILL DE-CREASE the secondary price of my amazon-unicron & not make it original. the toy will also go from factory sealed to opened & used.
SINCE I really want the Takara 2010 Unicron the most,I might as well play the waiting game. to see if the amazon-unicron goes up to $199 on the secondary market,then sell it,then use that money to buy myself a takara 2010 unicron.

I really hope Takara does a re-release of their Takara 2010 unicron for $119. like takara is currently doing a re-re-released of some of their henkei-united TF toys.

Well on TFsource they were asking around $147 for 2010 Unicron at release. While on Amazon you can still get the 25Th anniversary version from $89+, although not from Amazon themselves.

My biggest gripe is that Amazon in their infinite wisdom, are not going to release him here in the UK. As a result we're almost forced to pay those inflated prices just to get him, especially when you factor in the shipping costs as well.

IMO the Takara version is still the more prestigious of the two, and for that reason it will always command a higher premium. However, with that said, the 25Th anniversary version definitely does come a very close second, with both modern versions being vastly superior to the original Armada variant.

I want to know why you think the Amazon Unicron is so rare?

Amazon is a online selling powerhouse. I'm willing to bet they had a rather large number of them ordered and produced for sale. They sold out quick because of demand which generated a false sense of limitedness.

I really don't care for the Takara version. Save yourself the money and go with the Amazon Unicron. I already customized mine with green light up eyes and have a feeling that my modification will not hurt the value.

Because anything that sells out fast & is no longer available is always worth a bit more than the first asking price. the question is how much will fans desire this over time & make the price go up.

It honestly doesn't make a difference if america's amazon.com got 100,000 or 15,000 of amazon-unicron. because amazon will never reveal the volume units they received to the fans/buyers. this is private info that stays forever private.

clearly not everyone was able to buy nor afford amazon-unicron. it's abundantly clear the Scalpers swooped in & bought multiples,making this thing sell out super fast.

Since I plan to sell amazon-unicron,I'd rather not chance it. buyers can get very obsessive about toy parts not matching the box art or on-line pics. opened boxes with toys removed are considerd used & not factory sealed. most of the time factory sealed stuff sells for more than opened & used.

Personally,I like the Takara 2010 unicron's color scheme the best. because this is the most 100% 1986 movie/season 3 colors scheme accurate. Also I like the color scheme these best as it looks the most adult themed.

I don't like the armada unicron toy colors. because it has way to many clear parts that make it look cheap & aimed at a younger toddler buying audience. the purple highlights do more negatives than postives for the toy. last but not least,the colors are not 100% 1986 movie/season 3 accurate.

USA Amazon-Unicron does offer a more higher aged adult intended buyer color scheme. problem some of the added colors are not 1986 movie/season 3 accurate. 1986 movie unicron didn't have a shinny grey torso. 1986 movie unicron never had any blue colored oceans on his planet form nor robot form.

I prefer tha Takara version.

Although, you cant tell the difference till its in your hands. The takara one has a black wash all though it, that makes it feel worn... All the small details are also painted, making it look better than the Amazon one IMO ... but for the price and availability, i understand why people in the US would get the Amazon one. Although i think the prices are now almost equal

I think the the Takara one went for $119 or $129 online... I got mine at $110 US ... which is saying quite alot, since i live in Asia. It retailed for 10000 yen, which equals US $129, it was a rather good deal then.

Quoted for truth. Although evidently lots of the Amazon Unicrons were snapped up by scalpers, all those scalpers will need to sell these on too... And unless they are keeping these stocked for the next couple of years, in which time the available MISB supply will have dwindled somewhat, they will still need to compete with quite a few other scalpers to get rid of them all. I really don't expect the value of Amazon Unicron to climb very much in the next couple of years.

Has Amazon Unicron come out in Canada yet? I heard it was supposed to come out in Costco a while back, but never heard anythign about it actually being released.

I'm very tempted by it despite having 2 Unicrons already and no display space ...
