And if anyoe wanders how Negi got his curse sign on his forehead.... here is the explanation.

It goes back into the past where Him and his father are part of the top clan, Hinata is younger, and she is choosen to be the head of the clan. And Negi gets cursed by his father's brother ( well his brothers, father's, mother's former college roomate, LOL) anyway so he is forced to protect HInata at all costs. Its a curse because it gives the top clan a way to control Negi and the rest of the curse.
