I got Special Ops Jazz recently, he is cool but his chest(front of car) doesn't seem to lock anyway,if I try to put his arm up it just drags the chest up as if you wanted to turn him into a car, its annoying, the only way I can move his arms are if I hold his chest, are there anyway to lock it in place so it doesn't flap around?

That's an unfortunately design flaw, but a minor one considering the rest is awesome.

Did you position the windshield correctly? It's supposed to fit into the grooves on the back of the chest, limiting it's movement.

Even the United version won't lock. There areno grooves to fit in. The wind shield just repositions. That's where the design flaw comes from. If Takara would have at least added a mini peg on his sides like G1 Grimlock (which sort of shares some similarity with the chest locking design. Other than that he is pure awesomesauce!

If you look at the top of the back of the chest piece, where the windshield rested in car mode, are two cuts on both ends that ruin an otherwise half-oval shape. These indentations allow the windshield to be pushed onto the back of the chest piece a little deeper, serving as a sort of lock. Granted it's not a perfect lock, but it helps a bit.

I know that part. Not a good fit alright, potential stress point that might cause the plastic to break.

I don't mind so much that it doesn't lock, but (on mine amyway) the chest "floats" above the bottom of its range of travel. If you press and release the chest, it will flex downward and rebound back up slightly.

The problem lies in the gray crosspiece on his back, just below the hinge for the chest. The internal gearing for the head auto-morph (a pair of curved "racks") hits the inner surface of that crosspiece. My solution: cut away the spots of that crosspiece that the gears hit. I used a drill bit, drilling a hole carefully into the piece. Done right, you'll see the ends of the gearing. Use a pointy blade to square up those new holes, and you'll see the gearing come back into those holes slightly, just enough to let the chest reach its full downward position and stay there. It actually helps his head rotate up a teeny bit more, and lowers the chest that much.

I'll post some pics, feel free to remind me. And not 30 seconds from now, either, wise guys.
