I would think that likely. Takara shows every indication thus far of using the mold to get the most money possible.

Im excited!! So it looks like almost everyone from G1 will get the Masterpiece treatment. I really like it where this line is going. I also hope that Takara can release multiple Masterpieces back to back to back.

So awesome. Cannot wait for preview images. The classics mold was pretty awesome, so it'll be interesting to see how this can top it while being even more faithful to G1 Prowl.

Other than head molds and color schemes, do you think there will be any other differences between Prowl and Smokescreen? Wonder what their accessories will be... Smokescreen will surely have something related to his G1 spotlight episode (The Gambler, right?). Maybe Prowl will have something related to Chip Chase?

Ironhide / Ratchet seem inevitable both for their popularity and being able to get two great characters from one mold.

This is why i stopped collecting deluxe figures and went to only masterpiece figures!! They are on a roll!! Now i want a masterpiece ironhide and rachet. There g1 figures were horrible!!! Come on takara

I wouldnt count on all the Autobots. Volkswagen, Jeep, and Corvette may not be as willing to license their old school cars to Hasbro. Same thing with who ever owns the Wheeljack or Mirage race cars. Maybe Trailbreaker/Hoist since it was a GM vechicle.

I'd worry a lot more about all the sponsors Mirage and Wheeljack have. Ho boy. :roll:

Trailbreaker and Hoist are Toyota brand trucks, which falls under the Toyota Motor Corporation, or TMC. TMC currently owns the Toyota, Scion, Lexus, Daihatsu and Hino Motors brands.

If they changed VW's minds for the Lambo rights, then everyone else will fall in line. I'm sure Nissan is happy with the coolness of the Alternity GTR's. My guess is these will be original Z's.

As far as everyone else, they got Binaltech's, and with older models, most companies aren't trying to make money of old designs. I'd say there's a good shot at getting everyone, with only BB, Jazz and CJ being the two biggest pain in the asses

Sorry guys, but I'm a little confused. Do we know if these are new molds? Or are these remolds/retools/repaints/whatever of the Sideswipe mold? I feel like I'm missing something that everybody else is seeing. Or are we just speculating until we get some official pics? Like I said...I'm confused, but very interested to learn more and see some pictures! :???:

I hope they're new molds because I can't justify spending $80 for each of these no matter how cool they are if they're just repeats of Sideswipe.

For G1 and their reissues, a lot of characters were created using a limited amount of unique molds. The list goes a little like this:

Lamborghini Countach: Sideswipe, Red Alert, Tigertrack, Clamp Down, Deep Cover
Nissan Datsun/Fairlady Z: Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen
Toyota 4WD Hi-Lux: Trailbreaker, Hoist
Onebox Cherry Vanette: Ironhide, Ratchet

Since Masterpiece strives for accuracy, we're 100% certain Prowl will be a new mold with Smokescreen and possibly Bluestreak as his retools, like in G1.
