Mini Blaster plugs into that notch in the center, btw (which makes no sense for a car, but I guess Tracks doesn't have a built-in stereo like Jazz does
)

Now I'll have to go get the box from the basement and make myself feel even dumber.

I have actually been looking at that for a while now. It's like 98% the same. Streak's blue seems a tad darker, but only by like a micron.(the measurement. Not the toy

I first started inspecting it after taking this photo.

But I did a tiny bit of color correction on this pic. To the naked eye it is just slightly different, but with the same amount of metallic fleck.

Also, I noticed that the colors were a little off, figuring it was tweaked due to the red probably. Cameras sometimes don't like red (jerks!).

I would guess the two plastics use the same color and fleck formula, it's just the difference in batches.itscramtastic wrote:Yes, back on track, didn't want to be burned or anythingCobotron wrote:Way to get back on T Cram!itscramtastic wrote:How does the blue compare to Bluestreak?

Unbiased feedback from a very biased fan
Just received and opened my figure. Based on the instruction above about the head tipping backward, didn't happen to my version. Sure it stays there but when you twist the head left or right, it falls back. With great anxiety and cold sweat, I DID managed to extend his head forward after the clicking sound. So now, his head doesn't lean back anymore....only forward this time
.
Anyways, just as the other articles have indicated, questioning this fig's "Masterpiece-ness". I'd say, yup. Still a MP but with a single flaw in design implementation.
Flaws:
And that is the aforementioned neck issue. Similar to Legends UM, the head/neck has a similar mechanism but the former has the cab shell to keep the head level once it's been extended out.Maybe a ratchet or some teeth to click the head in place? I'm kind of too scared to push the head beyond else I risk breaking the neck peg.(I'll check again if the neck connection allows for it.)
The so called shoulder back pack gap isn't that bad given the design structure of the Corvette and his G1 appearance, I'm still be hard put to find another remedy unless you go to parts forming.
Also, the clearance space between the shoulder/wheels is a big blunder. Despite several attempt to reposition the "wings', itstill clashes with the shoulde[strike]r[/strike]. This in turn cause stress on the back pack locking mechanism (which is quite weakly implemented) between his back. Angling the wings at around 45 degree more doe allow for clearance but the look ain't as cool as when the wings are parallel to the ground.
Knee joints kind of floppy
Plus:
Shoulder back pack missile launcher.
Flaw now a plus? Implementation, at best, I'll give 4 out of 5. All the Autobot cars implemented a separate you attach them at your preference weapon/accessory. Lambor mold, Prowl mold and WJ mold had you attach their "missile launchers". Tracks' is incorporated into his design.
Maybe this contributed to a lot of junk in his trunk in car mode.
Paint app details. With the exception of Starsaber, Tracks has oodles of detail paint apps that I'd be hardpressed to find what Ocean Designs and Eness can come up with to pimp out Tracks compared to the other the MP products.
Over all anime accuracy......almost to a fault. Very Floro Deryesque.
Recommended buy? If you can go pass the neck issues, I say get him.
P.S. Mine came from BigInJapan hence me get no coin.
Edit: Like MP10, made in Vietnam.

Well, I've had tracks for about a week now, and I'm very happy with him. The backpack is still an issue, but the complete and utter fail that is shown in the Hotrod pictures makes it much easier to take.
The transformation is ingenious, yet not overly complicated. Car and robot accuracy are spot on.
My only real complaint is that you can't store his gun and Blaster at the same time in car mode.

You know what Fenrir, I somewhat preffer biased reviews. It helps me see where the reviewer is coming from and gives me an idea if I would like a toy. If I think monkey arms are fine but a reviewer is bashing a figure because it has monkey arms then I will at least know that the main issue with the figure is something I have no problem with. Like Thew, he says why he loves a figure instead of just showing us what the figure has. I can see if I share the same likes and dislikes as biased reviewers and that helps me even more in figuring out if the figure is for me.
For example, you have a problem with the neck. Everyone said it was just pics and stuff but once you have it in hand, its fine. But you still saw it as something worth mentioning, which definitely hits home for me.
I also find biased reviews (like Thew's) far more fun to read and watch that just a description of the figure's joints and deco (I can tell that from galleries myself).
All to simply say, keep on rocking in the free world!

But in the original G1 fig, Tracks' back pack was angled so as to appear like a hood of sorts. Hotrod's back was always flat. I think the designer intended to make the shoulder missile weapon accessory incorporation into Tracks' hoodie and not a separate accessory the selling point of this MP.
I'm not saying it's perfect but comparing it to Hotrod's back pack is of the mark. (not that I'm saying I've got no issues with it as mentioned, the gap is a bit distracting).Same with the Lambo mold, the original figures had the flat on the robot's back.

Recommended buy? If you can go pass the neck issues, I say get him.
Perfect review, very helpful, thanks!
Thanks. Much appreciated. From a very biased source
Again, many thanks. I try portraying an honest feedback for all our fellow collectors out there. I don't bash for the sake off bashing. And, if my opinions are not evidence based, then all the huffing and puffing ain't worth a piece of spit.
Now, I can't wait for the red femme fatale aka Roadrage to come (without delays). (Me hopes our resident feminists don't bash Rr for her Japanese origin bio on how female drivers are the worst in the roads

Having read several reviews as well as watched them, The car mode alone is enough to convince people to buy him. That is an amazing alt mode. And I love his flying car mode, ridiculous as it may be. Enough so that if I did get him, that is probably the mode I would display him in. The robot mode issues still persist, but they can be excused somewhat by the other 2 modes.

His back issues remind me of this:
Getway's neck clearance is somewhat similar. Can't be see based on the angles but it is very similar.

If it is a similar problem, it is really hard to see. This one feels less noticeable. But I suppose Tracks isn't viewed from the sides too much. Now if he were on his flight stand in robot mode in some sort of flying action pose, then yeah it would be, but put him between Sideswipe and Wheeljack, and he'll fit right in with no noticeable gap
