Decepticon Overcast
Welcome back to Thyunda’s reviews. Now I will be reviewing what has to be the most awesomest of all my Transformers. Overcast. He transforms into a black MiG-29 "Fulcrum" fighter jet with a light green trim and translucent yellow flame trails/missiles, which can be fired by pressing a pair of blue tabs on his hands/thrusters. These missiles, as I discovered after numerous attempts to injure my brother with them, do not fly far or fast. How unfair. And they go missing rather frequently. I think one is in my front living room, and the other somewhere in the kitchen. I can’t be bothered to go find them, I’d rather sit here and write pointless reviews that nobody reads anyway. Anyway, before I get too sidetracked, I’ll tell you a little about Overcast’s character. I believe he gets his name from his built-in cloud-makers. He’s a mad scientist. Like Wheeljack, but rather than blowing himself up, he travels around the universe to blow other people up. Isolated from the other Decepticons, he builds and installs new systems on himself, and now he’s come to Earth to test them on the Autobots. Overcast is a redeco of Dreadwing. Well, I call it a redeco, but a slight amount of effort goes into designing a new colour scheme for redecoes, whereas Overcast is clearly just a black repaint. Like the original Generation 1 Skywarp. His alternate mode, the Fulcrum as I like to call it, looks a lot like G1 Seeker jets, only slightly different at some point. He also has a simple, spring-loaded automorph feature. Pulling his thrusters apart also flicks out a cockpit, similar to G1 Starscream, with a Decepticon symbol. Speaking of symbols, his alternate mode has two silver ones on the wings, and a green cockpit. Hasbro has some odd colours for cockpits. Fast Action Battlers Starscream has a black one. Masterpiece and Voyager Starscream and Thundercracker have orange and Overcast has green. He’s a rather large Deluxe figure, which is odd…like Longarm. I chose him out of two other appetisers, Stockade and Jungle Bonecrusher.
I gotta rate him a 10/10! Though he’s a redeco, I like him more than Dreadwing. And there aren’t any immediate problems, although I suppose I had better keep you posted on that.
