TFC Toys Project Uranus (Superion) Updates

I meant YF-12 not the A-12. And i could have swore i saw pics of it in aluminum finish(unpainted)(i know it used other metal alloys). The XF-108 would also be a good alternate had they not picked an alt mode yet.

I've seen a few things around like that... but it all seems to be just fanart. The XF-108 is about 20 feet shorter than the SR-71... however, the Concorde was another 100 feet beyond that at over 200 feet in length. They SHOULD have just left it as a Concorde... as Silverbolt's character was based around him being a transport unlike the others... but I'm sure TFC is just scared of getting shut-down if they don't stray a bit from G1.
These aren't Transformers... as much as they're trying to appeal to Transformers fans... you can only ask for so much... and they're already pushing the boundaries. Only ask for it to be a major kick-ass transforming toy that pays homage to your childhood Transformers fantasies & you'll ALL be happy... granted you can afford it, unlike myself.

gotta say, whilst I am liking what I'm seeing, am not liking it enough for the prices I'm expecting
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.

Second... where's this A-12 Avenger talk coming from? I'm no aviation expert, but the two look nothing alike.
Third... isn't an SR-71 bigger than these other planes? I doubt it's the "kibble bot".
I think you are thinking of the McDonnell-Douglas A-12 Avenger. The use of the name "Avenger" in previous posts is unfortunate. Indeed, there was a Lockheed A-12and a Lockheed YF-12 before the SR-71 Blackbird. It appears that the A-12 spawned both the YF-12 and the Blackbird. But all three look remarkably alike. And indeed, there exists pictures of the A-12 that are not all black.

Thanks, guys. I haven't had a chance to geek out about aircraft like this in a while.

Back to the topic at hand. I have the FP Superion add-on. It looks great! I love it in both separated plane modes and in full combined Superion glory. But, man, these are looking great! I have Herc and am impressed with it. If it wasn't for the Microsoft Surface I will be buying soon (job-related) I would be all over this. I am very tempted, indeed.

Agamemnon, its all good that you geeked out on the plane stuff. I took a buddy of mine to the National Airforce Museum and basically i could put the actual tour guides to shame. I misspoke about the A-12. I meant the YF-12.

I don't think we know that yet. We know it transforms into a part of his chest. Whether its just transformable kibble or an entire 6th figure is still unclear.

I'm gonna go ahead and call that the sixth figure, is just the D-21 Ramjet Drone that rode on the back of the SR-71. It's that small Drone that will become the chest shield. It's not really a "Figure" but more like a Micron, or even a target master, or in this case a shield master.
It's my call and nothing more, just makes sense and fits the hints we have so far.

Maybe a Breastmaster? lol.
If it's just kibble or even kibble that turns into a robot, it's fine with me. I'd have been upset if it turned into the hips of Superion (or something), but a shield if fine.

The 6th bot could be a turd for all I care. I just glad it's not a torso on Superion like Long Haul is to Devastator. That was my fear when the 6th member was announced. I was afraid they were going to try some Lio Kaiser type of transformation. I got no problem with a chest plate as long as it screams G1.

I think the 6th figure , Like Daimchoc posted earlier is going to be a small scout size figure that rides piggy back on top of the blackbird. Like a low orbit single person aircraft.. I guess you could say it will end being like a combiner heartmaster?

It's tough, I can't get past my disappointment that "Silverbolt" is not going to be a concord. Not enough to abandon the idea of maybe getting this set though at this point. Like others have said, and it's true, it still could look like "Superion" when all is said and done. The coloring should be interesting, I tend to think top would be black and bottom would be the off white.
Here are some other thoughts. Will there be gold of some type on this piece? Will "Superions" head be build into "Silverbolt" somewhere?
I think another thing to point out too is that the chest shield would seem to be on the bottom of "Silverbolt", not on top. Who knows, maybe that's not the only place it can be.

The problem I see with the "6th bot" phenomenon is that i am now scared this will be the standard for all of TFC's Gestalts...they simply used a method they knew worked with Herc and copied that type of "combining" for all of their future sets...and who wants 6-bot sets of the Stunticons, Protectobots, etc?
It would have been better IMHO to re-do their experimentation and figure out a 5-figure combining mold they could use for any/all of their future teams now.
Yeah, it might have ended up being slightly smaller than Herc, unless they made the central Bot like, alot larger by comparison to make up for the central torso only being made of one bot...but at least all the teams would be cannon accurate.

May want to re-read the last couple pages of the thread.
If appears that they will be using the expected 5 bots, plus an additional member that is the chest shield.
We are all still waiting on specifics, but it looks like we can all drop from def con 6.

"If appears that they will be using the expected 5 bots, plus an additional member that is the chest shield."
Even in your own words, what about this statement doesn't say "SIX BOTS" to you?
SIX BOTS is not the Aerialbots, or the Stunticons, etc...there's no reason they couldnt make a 5-bot cannon accurate combiner with the "chest plate" a piece of convertible, vehicle-used kibble just like all the parts FP made for Bruticus.
Like I said, IMHO TFC is just taking the easy way out using a method they already have machined and ready to go, to rush something out they think everyone will jump all over instead of doing it the right (read: cannonical) way and re-configuring their production process for a 5-bot combiner.
Take it for what its worth, just one guy's opinion.
