Yes I enjoyed myself, and I actualy still think Ryan's biggest achievement here is the huge fan resource he has build up, part of which being the photo galleries section. However I also know from working here for over two years, submitting my own galleries to the site, and being an Ameture digital photographer for the last five years that the camera Ryan has perchased is way over the spec required to shoot the galleries he has here or os every likely to have here. Basically I'm saying he didn't need to ask for, take or spend all that money.

It has nothing to do with how grateful I am to Ryan for running this site, but has evetything to do with how ungrateful, unecassary and down right offensive buying an excessively expensive over spec camera with fan donated money to shoot the galleries he put up here to generate page views that in turn generates more advertising revenue for him to run his site with is.

Yours AK

I seriously don't see your problem. You claim Ryan is making a ton of money with this site, but you don't know that, you just see advertising and assume. You do realize he has to pay for storage, bandwidth and you also seem to discount the amount of hours he puts into it. I don't know about you, but my time is worth something to me, and for the amount of time Ryan puts into this site and the amount of revenue he's probably getting, well he might as well be cutting peoples lawns or delivering the paper on a bicycle as a hobby instead.

I bet he puts in 40 hours a week on this site at least, and I know I have used his galleries to justify buying a figure or to see if my figure was complete...and I've even generated revenue myself by using his Buy/Sell forums. And he never demanded me to pay a dime for all this. So the site is free, all he asked was for a donation. It's like a gift to your friend. Do you go to your friends Birthday party without a gift and tell him that your friendship should cost anything, no you give him something nice cause you value what he does for you. It's unsoclited and quite personally, it should make you feel good to help a friend out. And since it's obvious you didn't donate anything, so what's your problem anyways?

To all you leaches who mooch off this site who don't want to give back? You think Ryan makes a profit from this site? You guys are jerks
and I hope that when you guys are in need that people turn their backs on you just as you did to him! This ordeal was an opportunity for us fans to come together to help another.

The funny thing about all the complaining is that if you asked the people who donated money I'm not sure they would care all that much. The guy bought a nice camera big deal. Should he have gotten the cash to buy a middle of the road camera and then try to figure out who to send the money back too? Honestly I am surprised at some people. He provides a service to use for this site, so let him buy the best tools he can for it. I don't care about megapixels this or that. MY opinion stands I don't see the harm. Besides if we actually had to pay for this we would ALL owe Ryan a large sum of money and first born and so on. I actually stumbled upon this site a few years ago and to be honest I had not even seen a transformer in 15+ years. I owe my newfound interest to this site and him.

Thank you for going the mature route OR. Stuff like that is a matter best delt with behind closed doors.

I would have gladly donated some funds, but I had my own problems to deal with and could fit it into my budget. I can't wait to see your new galleries Seibs, I know they will do the camera justice.

I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that Ryan takes pictures of more than toys. If he is a photography enthusiast, it makes sense that he will want a kickass camera.

I would shank someone for a camera like yours, Boss. Enjoy it!!

Agreed, I'm definitely adding him to my collection when he hits the shelves. I can't wait to see his gallery, he looks to be pretty sweet and he looks pretty poseable which is something I look for in my TF figures.

To all those who want to jump on the backs of Alex_Kingdom and all those who have voiced their "negative" opinions regarding this issue, learn who those people are first. I know AK has contributed a lot to this site, not in money, but content, while others like Operation Ravage and BunBun have contributed in their own ways.

They are anything but leeches.

I think we ought to just put this part of the discussion to rest. What's done is done and there's no changing what's happened. The galleries are going to continue no matter what as are my contributions to the site. Let's switch our focus over to things that are in our control. Minerva will be posted shortly ...
