That's an amazing feat. It's a very complicated design. In the cartoon, that is. All the Unicron toys, in my opinion, could not live up to the cartoon design.

Well actually, I think the Armada Unicron is very much in the style of Floro Dery's original Art work.. it's just got minicon ports on it, and not soo much paint application details, but none the less, it's a close aproximation of the design..

Yup. Just checked out the gallery. This one is close enough. Good thing you mentioned it. I was not aware that Armada line have a Unicron. :)

Which Unicron toys were you thinking of? There's only Energon and Cybertron left and the Cybertron version obviously wasn't going to come close to the cartoon design.

Energon and Cybertron. Those were the only 2 Unicron i knew of. I initially thought they were different. Only to realize later, that one is a repaint of the other.

But the Cybertron version wasn't a repaint of the Energon version. The Energon version was a repaint of the Armada version.

Ok. I thought the Armada-Energon was Energon-Cybertron.

As i did not have the opportunity to watch the cartoons after G1, i'm really not familiar with the Armada-Energon-Cyberton lines. Often mixed them up.

Anyway, I've initially seen the green one only. Didn't give it a really good look. Because the color already turned me off. Sapped away my interest. Especially so that this is in a series that i'm not familiar with.

Later on, i've noticed a yellow one that looks very much similar to the green one. Didn't bother to check it out either.

I've only given the Armada Unicron a careful look in the gallery now. Because of this topic. Just did a search.

I'm not impressed with the planet mode. The limbs are too prominent. And the planet teeth are all wrong. (Compared to the 86 Movie)

But the yellow-colored robot mode do pay homage to the 86 Movie.
