The Super Nintendo is my favourite console by far. I had so many good times with it, and discounting Wild Arms, Xenogears Grandia, and Final Fantasy 7, have never been able to recapture the feeling I had when I started playing its games.
There were many games that stood out on the SNES, from platformers to RPGs, a lot of the lineup is superb. I have vivid memories of multiple playthroughs of Contra III/Super Probotector, Street Fighter II, Secret of Mana, and Joe & Mac Caveman Ninjas. Of course it had its dismal failures as well, but not every game can be perfect.
Terranigma, the last game I bought for the SNES, is my favourite game of all time. In terms of characters and gameplay it totally blew me away for the time it was made. Even the ending while very original, couldn't put me off with its bitter overtones, because it was just so well handled.
These days, I'd be very interested in seeing the Soul Blazer series revisted, especially if it tied into Terranigma. I wonder who owns the rights to it now that Quintet is defunct.

And with a superb emulator like ZSNES available on so many formats, PC most notably, the SNES could be around with it's army of excellent games forever
