Well, the last 2 years sets are still on the website for sale, so I wouldn't be shocked.

No reason for them not to make a few extra to sell on the website, realy.

And I'm guessing that the box set runs $200-$250ish, plus the $40 fee to sign up for the club? For the Axalon crew, that might be worth it, but it seems excessive for just the Ironhide. Yeah, you could sell off the rest, but it looks like you're really only going to get back $100-$150 of the investment, maybe, and then you're still spending $100-140 on the Ironhide, which is technically the same as buying him solo off ebay. Hunting down the '05 set seems like a better bet, but it doesn't appear you're saving alot of money.

Back to the discussion at hand, a guy on a budget who wants his seekers is still looking at the same barrier: price. I guess the real point I'm getting at is, for the people who have to wait or simply can't afford to pony up the $329 for the set initially, what's the guesstimate on how much Thundercracker's gonna run by his lonesome? Thrust? Will the numbers of bagged sets drive down the cost to a palatable level?

And we can hope that the attendee figs aren't things like "Hey, we remolded Mirage & Rodimus into Arcee & Sideswipe, isn't that great?"

You can't compare Ratchet to a figure in the box set. Ratchet was only available at the convention individually, same as Flamewar, who was even worse because it was the "free" figure. In terms of after availability the pricing usually follows this:

- BoxSet figures, easily available on e-bay at a good price.
- Convetion figures for sale at convention (not part of box set): Usually fairly expensive, between $80 and $100.
- Free convention exclusive figure for Primus Package Holders: Most expensive, usually starting at $120.

I suspect most of the figures people want will be in the first category.

yeah if you want just specific figures and you buy the set apart then you get gouged on the price. Ironhide is an example of that usually can see it go for about $120 and up. Rest of the figures about $30 except for Deathasaurus which is usually $50. Together that is a higher price. If you then take that same set from the club at $265 across 7 figures it comes to $38 a figure evenly. Granted you have a mix of sizes so its not really fair for an even split but that's the average.

So in the long run its best to just save up for the set, you get the cool box and the comic.

Don't get me wrong I'm strapped for cash as much as the next person but I will find a way to make room for the set, the first that I've really looked forward to getting.

I wasn't trying to compare the Ratchet price versus what the Seekers might end up being, just saying the price on the homage figures (Ironhide & Ratchet) appears to have increased slowly but steadily over the last couple years, and was trying to gauge what the opinion was for how the market and movie-hype might affect the '07 set, and if it was going to see a gradual value increase or an immediate one.

My educated guess on price per fig, if someone was going to break up the set and piecemeal it, is (initially) $75-125 on Thundercracker, $65-110 on Thrust, and $60-$100 on Dirge. Dreadwind's a total guess...if it's a really interesting looking figure, it might go for around $75-$95...if it isn't, it'll probably top out at $50. Bugbyte's gonna get the shaft; best guess is the piecemealers will end up selling it for $15-$30. That's a pretty good mark-up for resellers on the bagged set price, but not so good on the box set. Once the inital wave of bagged sets gets sold, if there are any box sets still available through the Club, the price should plateau, and if the Club is sold out, the prices will immediately double.

I've never dealt with Botcon exclusives personally, so is this a fair estimate or way off?
