Postby skywarp-2 » Mon Sep 03, 2007 10:09 pm

Here is yet another tough and hard decision to make, and this is based on your favorites, whether you own them, covet them, like them for their looks, or transformabilty, you name it!! the catch?? you can only choose 10 of the Best Beast Wars toys from the entire Beast Wars Transformers Universe!!

Tough decision, but I have mine finally:

1. Optimus Primal 10th Anniversary Reborn
2. Megatron 10th Anniversary Reborn
3. Takara Reissue Optimus Primal TM-01
4. Takara Reissue Waspinator
5. Beat Wars Robot Masters Lio Convoy
6. Beast Wars Neo Magmatron
7. Takara Reissue Dinobot
8. Beast Wars Neo Big Convoy
9. Beast Wars Transmetals Depthcharge

Weapon: Sword
I'd go with the original series lineup first (not in order based on preference past the first two):

1. Optimus Primal 10th Anniversary Reborn
2. Megatron 10th Anniversary Reborn
3. Takara Reissue Waspinator
4. Hasbro BW Scorponok
5. Hasbro BW Tarantulas reissue
6. Hasbro BW Terrorsaur
7. Hasbro BW Dinobot reissue
8. Takara BW Cheetor reissue
9. Hasbro BW Rhinox reissue
10. Hasbro BW Rattrap

Takara Tigatron, Hasbro BW Airazor, TM Megatron, TM Depthcharge, Takara X9-Ravage, Universe Nemesis Prime, Beast Wars Neo Magmatron, TM Rampage, TM Primal, and TM Tigerhawk would round out a good collection.

I basically went only with show characters for Beast Wars, with the exception of Universe Nemesis Prime and Magmatron. Those two were too cool to pass up.

1. Shokaract
2. Transmetal 2 Megatron
3. 10th Reissue Tarantulas
4. Insecticon
5. Transmetal 2 Iguanus
6. Transmetal Cheetor
7. Transmetal Waspinator
8. Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia
9. Optimus Primal
10.Razorclaw (crab)

I went with Shokaract over Rampage because I like the colour scheme a bit better, he's a more rare character and he's more powerful. I would have put both, but didn't want to repeat molds on the list.

If we were to include Universe repaints, I might take Reptilion repaint over TM2 Iguanus, and I might add Razorclaw to the list. Razorclaw is a much better looking figure than Tigerhawk, it's hard to believe it's the same figure sometimes.

If I were to extend the list in general, I'd probably add TM and regular (purple dinosaur) Megatrons at least.

whew, tough indeed...you sure do make some tough lists, 'warp. hehe.

i'll answer my 10 later...but i'm surprised none mentioned 'ol rover himself, silverbolt, TM rattrap and RM leo convoy - i'm sure this little bugger's got a better mold and balance issues than the original leo convoy.

This one is only slightly easier to make a list of thean the Unicron trilogy one, but thats moreso because there are fewer figures to choose from.

Again, in no Particular order, except for spot #1:

1. TM2 Megatron
TM Tarantulas
TM Cheetor
Optimal Optimus
Depth Charge
Inferno
Rampage
Takara Waspinator
BWX Megatron
Optimus Primal
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Silverbolt.

He is one sleek Fuzor! I really dig his mold and his transformation, so yeah, not too bad a figure at all.

Mine would have to be..

Optimus Primal
Megatron
Dinobot 2
Blackaracnia Transmetal 2
Rampage
Depthcharge
Tigerhawk
Transmetal Rattrap
Inferno
Scorponok

I am very biased to show figures. Most of which I own, and have an affection for. Beast wars was my first MAJOR introduction to transforms, so they have a special spot in my heart.

The original Optimus is by far the best. So many gimmicks, that were amazing, with great transformation, and weapons, and boy is he cool! 4 missles! Slow down!

BW2 Lio Convoy
BW2 Galvatron

I may be a bit biased since these are the only beast wars figures i own. But they are way better than any US release I found, except maybe for the Optimal Optimus, but I don't have the figur.

large release. i know the RM version rocks. 8) i need info on this because someone is offering it here locally for $30 USD-converted loose, i want to know if he's worth getting or not.

btw, here are my top 5 picks, in no particular order, and NOT FINAL yet!!!!

1. 10th Ultra-class Optimus Primal, - show accurate release at last.
2. Optimal Optimus - man, 4 modes of transformation, and wicked gimmicks; too bad the shields are easily lost.
3. TM Rattrap - most underrated BW fig. ever.
4. TM-01 Primal/RM Lio Convoy - tie. cool figs, 'nuff said.
5. TM Cheetor - cool mold, rocked hardest as X-9 Ravage/BotCon Tigatron

man, that was nerve-wracking... i'll revise this list later, too many considerations still, and i haven't listed any Preds yet.

30.00 loose... I'd haggle a bit....but he's still a nice figure..but with you proximity to the mainland Japan, I'd say that 30.00 was a bit much..

and yes, Predacons are gonna be a tough choice, as it was for me... but overall, i had to go with Magmatron, 3 dinos that turn into a big badass tyrant!! hells yeah!!

Meh... 15 bucks for each...haggle down to 12.00 each.. then it would be just right... the MISB version of the 2-Pack is for sale in HK and Maylasia ebay for like $35.00, so I really it's just not that expensive of a character to get...

Yes, that's a pretty good deal there. Galvatron is pretty neat. I like his dragon mode much more than his bot mode. He is tricky to stand in bot mode since he has a giant drill bit on his back that wants to force him backwards. That drill is actually two pieces you have to force onto the figure itself and since it's gold plastic, it's kinda nerve wracking forcing it into place. I wouldn't chance removing it for fear of breakage. You had also asked about plastic quality for Lio Convoy. Neither version has any plastic issues. They're both pretty solid figures. I'll put up my list shortly.

thanks for yours and skywarp's inputs! i really need to decide on this because another guy's offering a cybertron deluxe 3-pack w/ landmine, snarl and dirtboss MOSC, at almost the same price... i'm torn bet. getting 2 ultras or 3 deluxes. any ideas?

skywarp: yeah, it goes at that price but you have to consider the cross-country shipping cost...so basically the loose one offered here is much cheaper...i'm more concerned about lioconvoy's plastics and playability, a friend of mine says his playability is meh. ideas?

So, my list.
1.BWR Optimus Primal and Megatron (Counting these as one to free up a slot. The best of the best here.) :P
2.Takara Rattrap (Just won him on ebay. FINALLY! Now I can replace that crappy KO I bought awhile back.)
3.Ravage (Getting him very soon.)
4.Takara 10th Anniversary Dinobot
5.Tigerhawk
6.Razorbeast (Love the little guy.)
7.Big Convoy
8.TMII Dinobot
9.TMII Cheetor (I dunno, I just like him.)
10.Takara Metals Tarantulas (Got him a couple weeks ago and he's a nice looking figure.)
There's more but you asked for ten. If I could elaborate a bit more, I also really like Magmatron and TM Optimus Minor. Some others I have are neat but aren't integral to a list like this. I will soon have all of the show characters and as I get newer guys in, some of these spots will probably change.

I have both BW2 Galvatron and LioConvoy. Both are made of sturdy plastic. Both have great weapons.
The only issue i have with LioConvoy is his robot mode, the lion body that forms part of his upper torso never really locks into place. But is he playable, with rocket launchers that attach to his mane and spring action claws. Quite poseable too, with its points of articulation. I really like his beast mode, its almost seamless, (for a transforming toy). Even my mom likes it.

The body does lock into place. Push the top half down harder. The arms however? Different story there.

I'm adding Razorbeast, Beast Machines Primal (the huge one) and Optimus Minor.

That's right, Optimus Minor.
