Did you get the hips to tab in correctly? I felt the same way as it couldn't stand or pose without the tail splitting and then the dragon falling over. Then I finally figured out getting the hips tabbed and things were much better, a solid B.

That being said, what is it with all the line breaks Z3ROhour? Is that your "thing"? Just curious.

I do have to agree though that Twinferno is disappointing. I was looking forward to him and when I got him ... I was disappointed. (Probably didn't help I got him the same time as Triggerhappy)

Forget it it's not worth it.

If it wasn't a box with wings it would be an update rather than a homage. The 3rd party one is also a bx with wings. at least the new one has distinct legs.

Oh and you should have a chat with Death's Reviews - you two should get on just super.

Don't we, um, have a Titans Return thread...? Not trying to rain on anyone's parade or obsessively mini-mod, just a tad confused why this wasn't posted in TR is all.

Though yeah, Twinferno's updated alt-mode just doesn't live up to the same awesomeness of his updated name. In my opinion the Monsterbots should be at least Voyager anyway, but it's disappointing nonetheless to see this result. Decent effort, but not quite there.

Yes, but he wants to discuss one specific figure. That can be easily lost in the mega-threads.

I too was disappointed with him when i got him for the exact sme reason. A box with limbs. And a very obvious, very wide box. I do like his wings and his heads, but the vody and the tabbing of the hips is just.... Underwhelming. I'm glad i got him for half price, as full would have been made me sad, but he is one figure that should have been revamped, not be a g1 redo.


Easily my least favourite of all tr i have. If you want one to lus after, i suggest triggerhappy. Now that is a fantastic figure.

Aside from having one of the most awesome names in Transformersdom, I do like Twinferno as a figure. Bot mode is quite good, and the dragon hands are hilarious. The transformation is interesting and clever, and though his dragon mode is not super poseable, it's quite dashing looking.

Heck, I even have a friend who has built a Facebook page and Twitter account around the figure.

I actually really like both modes, but I suppose I wasn't desperately longing for the figure either. That tends to have an effect on how you perceive these things.

On mine, they absolutely do not tab in, they just don't fit where they're supposed to.

Yeah, it's a garbage figure for the most part. I did manage to get it to stand in dragon mode somehow, but it's still awful. Robot mode is okay, but not good enough to make up for the rest. I like the headmaster being a battlebeast, though.

Much happier with Hot Rod.

Are you sure you had it lined up right? It is a real pain in the *** to get it the first time, mainly because the hips have to be at an odd angle that looks like it can't be right, but actually is. Really hard to photograph (especially with a crappy phone), but I give it a shot.

After all of this talk back and forth on Titans Return Doublecross/Twinferno, I actually like the figure MORE now. Thanks to TF-fan kev777, I got the hips to tab in correctly for the first time. It does make the tail hold together better too, though mine still has some problems because of the very tight tolerances on the tabs meant to hold the two robot mode legs together as the base of the tail. Once you squeeze those together tightly enough, the tail tip will stay together, though it will sometimes still pop out of place if fiddled with too much. I love how the robot arms/dragon heads convert between modes too. It's just a very satisfying step in the transformation process and may be my favorite aspect of the figure overall. Doublecross/Twinferno looks just like he leapt off the screen of Headmasters and into our hands in both dragon and robot modes, plus now he has the addition of the Titans Return play pattern as well. Great update to a more obscure G1 character and toy.
