No if we were getting this in this line, it wouldn't have it's own Japanese text covered packaging. That's a dead giveaway in today's day & age that it's TakaraTomy only. Let alone THE paint aps and many gimmicks plus the parts count on this I'm betting is higher then todays leader classes.
It may however be exclusive down the road.

Yeah I'll be doing my best to get this guy, import cost or not. They upscaled/modded my favorite movie Prime mold, gave him chrome in the right places (finally) and he should scale near perfectly with VW Bee. I love it.

That is a nice figure, and hopefully the price is right. If hasbro bring him over hopefully he won't be a pain in the bum exclusive, if they don't well, I'll still try to get him

Damn you Takara, stop making me want to buy Movie Primes.
Too much stuff to buy. Still haven't gotten around to picking up PotP Prime. Want to get Seige Prime, now this Prime, and SS Prime.
So... many... Primes.

If he's Leader scale then this is basically another case of Takara Tomy making a Masterpiece level figure without actually having to make a MP. He should look good with the expected MP VW Bee since he's too big for the Studio Series line and the previous MP Prime was also Leader size.

Yeah, I like the improvements in the parts on this figure but it being Leader class means it's way out of scale for my collection and my income doesn't stretch to Masterpiece prices. If it had been voyager as at first assumed I would be looking at importing as soon as possible but as a Leader I can't really justify the cost when it won't fit in my (mostly Studio based) collection. Never mind. Enjoy it when you get it, folks.

I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!

Here is a composite someone did on TFW, which shows that this is an upscale:![]()
And the new Prime wasn't standing up straight either, so I figured it would all cancel out.
Anyways, if it is an upscale, it's very slight. Kinda odd.
That's the opposite of cancelling out, my dude.

Man I really kinda want this.

No specific movie examples, but I look at things like Encore God Fire Convoy or Encore BM Optimus Primal as a "close enough" for things they aren't likely to make MPs of.

Don't be so sure. The toys may be the same between regions now, but the packaging is not: while PotP's is just the US packaging with some stickers, the Studio Series is all new, in Japanese. The same may be the case for Optimus Prime here, and other Bumblebee movie toys.
A Leader Class-priced Optimus Prime was listed on Amazon AU, with a Hasbro product code (E4522). If this "Legendary Optimus Prime" (yes, that's the actual name of the figure) fits within Leader Class pricing, there we have it. Doesn't fit in Studio Series that well, too expensive to be Cyberverse, only other option is War for Cybertron... where scale is now important (imagine that). The reason he wasn't shown may have been because he's too far into the line if the product code is any indication.

More Images of Bumblebee Movie Evasion Mode Optimus Prime Toy Show Major Differences from Previo
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
The fandom is currently puzzled over the new reveal from Takara Tomy of an Evasion Mode Optimus Prime toy for their upcoming Transformers Bumblebee Movie toyline. How different is it from the previous mold? How much of a retool is it, along with it being an upscale? Well, from certain angles, the changes seem minimal, but at others, as you will see, it might be a completely new mold sharing some transformation steps.
By comparing to images of the Age of Extinction toy, you will notice that everything related to the arms is completely different. The shoulder armour is made of individual pieces, giving further proof that this does have a parts count more akin to a leader class toy. The forearms are completely different too and none of the details match.
Another huge difference, where it seems the transformation itself differs, is when we look at the back. Not only does the back of the top half have different pieces, but in the legs we can see that instead of him having two wheels at his calves, he has two wheels near his hips. So, judging by all this, it is far more likely that this is a new mold using some tricks and design cues of the first toy, like the foot transformation.
These new photos come to us from the Toyswalker facebook page.

Whats weird is that Takara and Hasbro both share the studio series line, so if it would be studio series, why wouldnt Takara release it through taht instead of their own BUmblebee movie line?
I am thinking if Hasbro releases it, it would be an exclusive, like the amazon stuff we saw. Target has its own BB exclusive toys, this could be amazon's.

It might be me but this figure reminds me of the Wei Jiang Masterpice KO of Evasion prime. Particularly the wheels, note how, like WJ, one of the rear wheels clearly rotates around the knee, giving prime 2 wheels at the hips and one at the ankle, like trilogy prime.

Finding that Optimus in store, I'd buy it. But if I have to just order it online, it's an easy pass. For me, such a figure would be an impulse of the moment purchase only.

ugh i still kinda want it even though it's too big.
Funny that some folk are complaining that with all those changes it's STILL only got one truck mode smokestack.
Not sure why the feet are grey/white inside. Serves no purpose in robot mode and makes the feet rather obvious in truck mode.

Because normally, a truck barely have anything on the back. And the little there is is either bare metal or unpainted. So I guess that's what they are going for.

Bumblebee: The Movie Toys on Display at Wonderfest with New Legendary Optimus Prime #ワンフェス #wf201
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Japan has one of its biggest toys shows happening right now, Wonderfest Summer, and while we had some juicy reveals for you MP fans, the Takara releases of the toys tying in with the Bumblebee film were also on display. This includes the Studio Series of course, since the more collector oriented toys for the film will also be released in the Stdio Series line in Japan. There is one exception that that is the puzzling but awesome new Evasion Mode Optimus Prime toy that seems Takara exclusive at the moment. Its proper name is Legendary Optimus Prime and while previous images revealed it to be a new mold, different from the previous release, other images show it to be bigger than the original release as well. We included an image of the previous Evasion Mode Optimus toy next to Masterpiece Cheetor as reference. The Takara display at Wonderfest does not help us more with the scale though, since the toys he is shown next to are the big gimmicky Bumblebee movie toy, who's scale is still not assessed, and a much elevated Movie Masterpiece Ironhide. However, it was stated on Twitter that "legenday Optimus prime is humongous after all" so that should help clarify things. You can see that specific tweet here along with the images that we posted below, which also partly come from Dengeki Hobby.
