I actually think I like this version of Ratbat better than the one that came with MP Soundblaster!!Rodimus Prime wrote:That MP Ratbat really is a nice figure. As a big fan of the G1 comics, where he was a prominent character, I'm very happy to have him in my collection. That mold of Megatron, though? Ugh.
What's wrong with Megatron?! Other than the barrel of the tank not being on his shoulder...

Re: Transformers Collectors' Club Exclusives and Subscription Figures
A small batch of these two figures leaked out of China way back in April shortly after Botcon, where they were first on display.
Here's some more Ratbat pics I posted back then:

TFCC Subscription Service 5.0 Update - Figures Arriving in March
- Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
If you're still waiting for your Transformers Collectors' Club Subscription Service 5.0 figures, which we were told would ship mid-January as reported here, are now due to leave their point of origin this month, giving them until March to actually arrive in your hands. More information below.
This is a resend in case you didn't get this last week.
Hello Everyone!
We just found out that the ship did not sail before Chinese New Year with the FSS 5 figures aboard. It was delayed over 3 weeks and is now scheduled to leave Hong Kong on Saturday Feb 11. With everyone (in China) out on holiday for CNY, we were not informed of this until yesterday.
This puts the figures here around the first of March and we will get the first shipment out to you as soon as we can. I will keep you advised when the container arrives here.
I apologize for the continual delay.
Brian

Chances the factory being used still thinks FSS figures are for Botcon, even though Botcon is over? Close to 100% by the looks of it.

Image of Cancelled TFCC Sari Sumdac figure found
- Motto: "Don't forget to subscribe to the official Doctor Who youtube channel"
- Weapon: Temperature Variant H20 Gun
Courtesy of this tweet from Twitter user Autovolt, we have a new image of a figure that was once in TFCC's plans before being unfortunately cancelled - an apparently fully Cybertronian counterpart to Sari Sumdac from Transformers: Animated, presumably transplanted into a non-Animated continuity! While it is sad we'll likely never get this Windblade retool, take a look at the picture below and tell us what you think in the forums nonetheless!

Hey neat! That's from that new Transformers Animated fan book that just came out in Japan. There are a few other Animated-based proposals from Jesse Wittenrich in it.

Are these "we were going to for sure do these before the license got pulled" or "just pitched ideas we moved on from or weren't allowed to do" material? One of those things is very different from the other.

now that we have a Windblade headmaster otw, I feel its not too late for this one. in fact it might be more appropriate with that mold

This is where I found out about the book, with a ton of pics from the book shown here.ScottyP wrote:Are these "we were going to for sure do these before the license got pulled" or "just pitched ideas we moved on from or weren't allowed to do" material? One of those things is very different from the other.
This post lists all of Jesse's proposals that made it into the book:
The fifth one whose name was unknown is supposed to be Yoketron himself.
JESSE WITTENRICH
He offers an illustration and comics in TFCC.
He is in charge of a story line in Wings of Honor
He participates in the concept of TFCC and the BOTCON item from 2010.
It is Dion that he dealt first.
The sample photograph of his interview and item which was not manufactured is placed.
AOTOBOT Sari (Body is Windblade new head)
BW Megatron (Body is ANIMATED Grimlock)
BW Optimus Primal (Body is Sentinel Prime)
Wreck-Gar (Body is PRIME Breakdown new head)
Unknown name (Coloring near Yoketron, Body is Voyager class Brainstorm, New face)
Jesse then elaborated more here on the proposals that got put into the book, how some of them were for one Animated-based proposal while the others were for a different Animated-related proposal:
Note that the "Tri-Nox" mock up is not in the book. Jesse posted it himself. These are from two separate proposals. The first one was an all Beast Wars-themed set which told the story of Primal Minor searching for his missing friend. His journeys take him to a strange jungle where he finds a collective of odd semi-organic Decepticons, led by none other than Blackarachnia! The dark-hearted spider has continued her experiments and created Fractyl, Terrorsaur, Inferno, Antagony, and Megatron - an egotistical former tyrant who reminded her of her previous boss. To Minor's horror, also among the Decepticons is his friend, now renamed "Tri-Nox*", given a prehistoric beast mode, and enslaved using a control collar and brainwave bolts. The stalwart Autobot explorer must battle these Decepticons - or Predacons as they've taken to calling themselves - alone and so resorts to guerrilla warfare as he also tries time and again to break Blackarachnia's hold over Tri-Nox.
The second was Transformers Unanimated, featuring Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Sentinel Prime, Sari, and Yoketron vs. Starscream/Headmaster, Lugnut, Wasp, Elita-One, and a confused Wreck-Gar.
*Tri-Nox was going to just be a joke... until I did the mock-up and found I actually loved the results.
Also note that since the book is a fanbook, nothing within it is officially licensed by Hasbro or TakaraTomy.
