Not sure why, but there is a second listing for Victorion on Amazon. And instead of the normal price of $72, it is only $42.83 currently. It is fulfilled by Amazon. The only difference is it takes additional time to process/ship out. I just bought one and it says it is due to arrive Friday as opposed to a normal Wednesday for 2 day shipping.

Thanks for newsing this! I ordered mine a couple of hours ago now. It's an absolute BARGAIN at that price! I'm glad I waited all this time.

Amazon has a bunch of TFs listed as lightening deals today. It's across the board: CW (Victorion and some deluxes), TR (deluxes), as well as Platinum (Trypticon, Ops/Megs, triple changers), G2 Brut. This could explain why Victorion hasn't dropped in price anymore. Wouldn't surprise me to see Victorion drop to $29.99 for this lightening deal.

FYI, I remember Trypticon dropping to around $100 during the last time it was offered as a lightening deal. Don't think a lot of people jumped on it though, maybe cause it was around the time Trypticon won the fan poll?

G2 Brut for $79, Trypticon for $110 ... not the best prices....

Not very helpful, but you can find it from "Today's Deals" ... just filter for toys. The deal isn't until 6pm EST.

But if you click on the link for the actual item, you won't know it's a lightening deal at all. I just clicked on "watch" from "today's deal" and I have all the items I'm watching on 1 screen.

I wish I knew Amazon was going to drop the price this quickly because I would've waited. Even with tax, I would've saved about $10.

So I was monitoring the G2 Bruticus set on Amazon. At just under $80, it sold out in about 10 minutes. I very curious what the Victorion set will go for, since it's presently available for $72 and $42. I still think a price of around $30 makes sense for a lightening deal.

Since this is a CW thread, CW Leader Starscream is also a lightening deal. Since it's currently at full MSRP, I don't know if it'd be significantly cheaper than the current HTS price.

If G2 Menasor or Fruiticus hits that kind of price, I might cave and pick them up. But Victorion? No, I'll still pass. There are just so many things wrong with the set that I can't justify even letting it take up space in my collection regardless of price.

Sorry...you missed out. A few days ago HTS had G2 Superion & G2 Menasor on eBay for $30...they sold out quick.

I don't mind Victorion so much (as well as other newcomers Optimus Maximus & Sky Reign) simply because we got pretty much all the classic combiners and *hopeful* signs of the rest in the coming years.

Still...I wonder if Hasbro will reconsider their strategy when it comes to "Fan Built" characters, as they seem to be the most polarizing and controversial. Hasbro probably made way too many of these sets thinking "this is what won the poll, so all the fans will want one", without stopping to consider factors like...who actually voted, did people vote multiple times?, how accessible was the poll etc...

I mean, there were only two fan-built bots at the end of the day. And considering Combiners are a very different deal from individual bots and the very nature of Combiners in toys makes them difficult to do and generally rather rare... this was kinda one of their only chances to do this sort of poll for a long time, unless we are indeed getting a CW 2.0 for Predaking and such in a few years. And even if we do get said CW 2.0, that would be a bunch of beast combiners; which is also a completely different deal from CW's vehicle combiners.

A fan built beast combiner would be really cool, but only if there's more than 6 molds to choose from.
