Stealing turns people into monsters who cant control them selfs. Yeah sure today its only a twenty dollar toy but what about tommorow when you find somthing more expensiv like an iPhone... Its bad people like you that are ruining our society. Well I can only hope the carma slowly and painfully kills you.

This is way off topic from the thread title (who cares anyway because the troll who started this doesn't deserve attention) but, why all of a sudden, is everybody all about dissing on Wal Mart? Why is Wal Mart such a big bad thing when they do nothing more then what K Mart, Target, Meijer (insert ANY retail name here)? Why is Wal Mart so bad and differant then the others? seriously. I think too many people put too much into the junk they see on tv. I'm sorry for the rant but I'm just so sick of all the hate Wal Mart gets. If not for Wal Mart many of us would be unable to buy many of our beloved Transformers. BTW, I'm sure this thread will get locked up before anyone would care to elaborate but I just had to get that off my chest. Sorry.Sunstar wrote:Not quite responding to the guy but just thinking about theft in general.
I could never be proud of myself for stealing. Owing someone 4 dollars bugged the hell out of me until I could find them and pay them back. Stealing would crush me.
I've worked in retail and I know how much Stealing can effect prices. each item adds up and then they have to recoope these costs. Wal-mart is not what I call an honourable chain, but theft is theft.
Stealing for survival, for food, maybe one thing that is a grey margin, however, knowing what it is like to be hungry, I still wouldn't do it. However, I do have a basic knowledge of edible wild foods and I know where to find alot of goodies at this time of year. Wild Plums, Apples, Crab apples, Plantain weeds, chickory, cattail roots, mints, dandilion leaves and roots, Acorns (and how to detoxify them) Include some varieties of wild Mushrooms. Things like that.
Yeah, I stole something as a kid, and I feel guilty about it. My mum took me aside and admonished me, telling me that I would be called a theif. She made it plain that such behaviour was absolutely--not good.
that's my thought on theft.
Reading what reports? Credible ones? I'd like to see them myself if you could point my in the right direction. Wal Mart does nothing differant then any other retail chain. I assure you that. What I will tell you is that Wal mart has strongly avoided unions for the most part and unions have enough power to smear and use propaganda to get what they want. Wal Mart has fallen victim to this.Sunstar wrote:Wal-mart, from reading reports and following it, has a number of not so nice business practices. This includes squeazing out small business.
So basically the real reason you dislike Wal mart is because of your husband's job? Why doesn't his place of business become more competitive to ward off going out of business due to wal mart? If his job does cease to exist why can't he work for Wal Mart? I worked for Wal mart for a few years and it's a decent place to work. Also, i don't know if you are in the states but i assume you are not because of the way you spell certain worrds. so maybe that makes your situation differant. I don't know. Also, Wal-mart is a direct competator for where my husband works and it could cause him to lose his job in future.
i'm sorry to hear that. TV has a lot of good to offer as long as you can pick it out of the crap. Also, I don't own a TV.

Wasn't trying to disrespect your opinion. If you feel like hating Wal mart, by all means, be my guest. I was simply trying to find out the actual cause for your hate for it. That's all. As far as spelling, I wasn't referring to mius-spellings. When someone types colours or flavour, or favourites instead of color, flavor, or favorites it usually gives it away. The States I think are the only English speaking country to spell the way we do. Everybody else spells the clour way. LOL. I don't know why we changed that and at what point in history it happened. Probably just because we tend to be lazy and leaving out that one letter made it seem easier. LOLSunstar wrote:i'm sorry to hear that. Actually not because of his job at all. I have never liked the place since I first stepped foot into one.
As for the reports, there have been a number of lawsuits brougth up against them for this that and the other. Google for them.
I don't like Wal-mart, respect this opinion please.
As for TV there... I gave it up by choice. I can't be bothered with it. I stopped watching it about 7 years ago and got rid of it 3 years ago. I have hobbies I can be doing, actually I am painting a warhammer figure right now.
I watch DVD's but its not important to me at all. So no need to appologise, I am quite happy without a TV.
Edit: as for the way I spell my words... it's 4am so some are likely misspelt, but I am canadian. We don't have a lot of the stores you mentioned.
I know what you mean. There are stores that make me feel that way as well. Biglots would top my list. When I walk into one I feel depressed. Can't really explain it.Sunstar wrote:I can 't really put a finger on why I dislike walmart. But I know the first time I went into one, I was creeped out. I still feel creeped. I'd rahter use dislike than hate. Hate is a very strong word.
for me to get to a wal-mart. it's a 30km round trip ride. (I don't drive either. I don't want to drive.) they're gonna build one about 3km down the road, but I likely would not shop there. Not unless, again, it was something I needed and could not find anywhere else.

I never realized you guys were the ONLY people to spell it without the U. Please don't take this personally, I'm sure if it were your personal choice you wouldn't be lazy, but what the hell!?! If it were possible & I had nothing better to do I really would like to go back in time & watch over the American use of the letter U & find out why they decided to drop it in so many words. That may sound sad but I really don't like America, not individual Americans, America, & I'm interested in working out exactly why I dislike it.
So far I have; McDonalds, American Politics, George Bush, everything brought up in the documentary "Supersize me", Law suits brought out at every opportunity, giant chain stores such as Walmart etc, generic lazyness in most things including spelling things in a most silly way& things to this effect.
