Looks like they're pulling an Angry Birds Transformers on this one: you get the figure, download some app, scan their symbols with whatever device you're using, and you can play as the character whose toy you just bought.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

they can be scanned by a smart device, and have some sort of interactivity with game play.
I think.

It's clearly going to get remolded into a Vehicon. Look at the transformation and chest design guys. If this series is in the same universe as Prime, you can expect, for cost purposes, there to be disposable genericons that are basically repaints of another character.

I actually got to agree, it's nice to see a fembot that isn't model thin and sneaky looking like Arcee or Blackarachnia. I think Strika was a bit overkill though if you ask me.

not interested in any of these, grimlocks robot mode looks cool but the alt mode & coloring suck & steeljaw has a cool head & alt mode but the robot mode is terrible.

Well, they look good, as far as I'm concearned. Grimlock looks really nice and Strongarm is interesting. The only one that doesn't strike me that much is Bumblebee. He's uninteresting at best.

Also not interested in any of these. these Rid toys remind me of 2009 Animated and TFP toys, That I didn't like.
Hoping the 2015 Rid toys don't make any Voyager, Ultra, leader and Supreme toys. Rather HasTak save all of the bigger toys for the 2015 Generations and CW toys.

They look fun but not exceptional. I'll probably pick up the Godzillagrimlock. I really hope the horrible, massive faction symbols are stickers i can remove though as they look terrible and misaligned on every figure. I can see they have molded recesses which is a bummer.

I really hope RiD will be a good show. As of now I'm skeptical and the figures are just ok, couple good ideas going on but, just ok. I like the Grimlock quite a bit but not as Grimlock and he is a deluxe where voyager would have been better. His robot and dinosaur modes are cool and maybe change the head and make him into a different character.

Because Bumblebee is considered the leader of the series, not Optimus Prime. Don't know the exact role of Optimus, but expect him to be more of a mentor than anything else.

OK, I may have missed the memo here, but is it just me or are all the Decepticons animal-based:
Underbite: dog?
Steeljaw: wolf
Bisk: Lobster
Thunderhoof: stag
Hammerstrike: hammerhead shark
And Cliffjumper? I thought he was killed off early on Prime, so it must be the G1 guy like Prowl.
By the way, is there any reason to suspect that Japan will treat RID 2015 as a sequel to Animated, given the ID numbers used (TA-# for Animated, TAV# for RID 2015)

Yeah, they are all Animals. I dont know if they will explain it as a side effect of hiding out on earth. But it's animals in robot mode, that's what's interesting.

I hope we get a warrior class of that stag.
I was so going to try to avoid this line.
Oh well.
