Trouble w/ Music Label Soundwave

Weapon: Short-Range Laser Pistols
Help. I'm having trouble with the Music Label Soundwave I bought at Botcon.

I've changed the batteries, and made sure it was a 1gig card, but he won't play.

The little blue light blinks for 5-8 seconds then stops. I can't read the Japanese instructions, so I am searching for advice where ever. There have been several other people with the same problem on other boards, but no one can find answers. Thanks

But that said, let me get you a shot cause it may just be thst you got burned :-(

The figure looks like a great display piece, but untill I see him released in the US, I wouldn't trust it for use.

Well, that just sucks. #-o He was suppose to be a gift for my TF/Areosmith fan hubby. Oh well, it'll look nice on the "Don't Touch" shelf.

Thanks Liege Evilmus. I'll buy you a beer.

Erm, I can't tell you how to do it without the directions, but he might just need a Hard reboot. My English language MP3 player had similar problems before I did one.

Perhaps you need to format the card to the right file system. Also are you putting the mp3's in folders or all together? As I think you need to have them all in the same place.

Yeah it probably won't handle folders as it's so basic. Eve if it doesn't work it's a fantastic figure - it'll look great if he collects Classics!

I have a similar problem with mine sometimes. I usually get around it by fiddling with the card and/or the battery and it works again.

However, all the files on my card are in one place, no folders. And my card is a 2-gig.

And, I've got my own problem. I think the spring in mine got messed up since the card doesn't stay down anymore. I usually keep it in place by tucking under the chest when the door is close, but it still gets annoying when it pops out of place right in the middle of a good song.

I figured this one out. I bought a Music Label Soundwave at Botcon 2009. Got home. Put in the micro (adapter) card. Sure enough the light blinked on and off for 5 seconds and then it turned itself off. I freaked out. After a lot of bad words and looking on line for answers I was no closer to making Soundwave work. Long story short... It is a FORMAT issue. Here is the fix:
1. Insert your card or card adapter (Micro SD with Mini SD adapter works. It is what I'm using) into your PC
2. Go to My Computer.
3. Right Click the SD card
4. Click Format
5. Click Restore Device Defaults
6. Click Start

That's it. Add your MP3s and your off. BTW turn down your speakers, it's going to be loud.

Never heard of this problem before, as I've only used my Soundwave as a display piece and I've got a battered but still-working Sony NW-E003F blasting sweet music into my ears. That said, I've got a different problem with my own Soundwave, and I don't want to open up another 'mp3 Soundwave problem' thread...

The Spring below his head. It's too short and too strong. Short, as if in it doesn't push all the way up and hold Soundwave's head securely so he does a good impression of a bobblehead when shaken slightly. Strong, as if in I need a tremendous amount of finger-strength just to cram his head down his shoulders and slide the panel over it, to the point that I'm worried that the panel may not withstand the constant pressure and burst out one day if I were to keep him in his alt-mode. Does anybody else have this problem, and if so, have you managed to open Soundwave up carefully and fix the spring?

Ah yes, I think I know what you mean. I never really noticed but I've just had a fiddle with him. The plate his head is on does wobble a bit if you shake him but it's not so bad that he won't hold whatever head pose you want. The spring is rather powerful and releases with a solid twang and it's a bit fiddly getting it in the hole and covered but I'm not worried it'll ever break loose. I've had him in alt mode for long periods (didn't he come boxed in alt mode?) with no trouble. So I think you're just worrying too much. I think he's pretty sturdy.

Well, you're quite right with him being packaged in alt-mode, perhaps I am worrying too much about how strong his head-concealing tab is.

Still, I don't really like Soundwave's bobblehead feature - turning his head in any direction causes the plate holding it to easily wobble and shift to a new angle due to the change in center of gravity, so I get peeved with having to pose his head in a certain angle only to have it bob in another slightly-different-but-completely-unintended angle. When I want Soundwave to look down upon the shelf, I don't want him to go looking down and a little to the left/right. Ah well, nothing a bit of fiddling can't fix.

That aside, thanks for the reassurance!

Great - another double post. Isn't there a way for mods to delete them or something?
