OK, thanks to Redimus I caved in and bought a classics Jetfire from the Entertainer sale...
Wow! Its by far the closest I have seen any TF toy resemble his comic image accross the entire line ever.

Why could that have not done that with the rest of the line?

Is astrotrain anything like as good?
He's the only other one im interested in really...

I personally don't like Astrotrain. I think his shuttle mode looks silly. His train mode isn't great, either, but his robot mode is. It depends on what you want most from him.

I didn't like anything about Classics Astrotrain. This is partly the coloring. The other part is that the train mode is horrendous.

Bot mode is ok. The arms and white color bug me. G1 astrotrain is still #1 in my books. The reissue suffers from the same JP color issue. IMO the US G1 coloring is vastly superior.

Really? I much preferred the JP colouring on the G1 reissue, especially for the shuttle and train modes. I like all three colourings of the robot mode, though.

I think the main reason I like the US coloring is that it really matches up well with Blitzwing, Galvatron, Scourge and Cyclonus. Also, it is what was familiar to me as a kid.

The train mode for Classics astrotrain is basically mega kibble, if you know what I mean.

As for the G1 mold. I like the all black train mode better than the purple and black as it looks much more "realistic" to me.

Astrotrain was alway sone of my favourite character. I was very disapointed that the club excl. did not have a train mode.

Hmm, I would love to see Blitzwing and Astrtrain as MPs one day. Would make a great pair, after I repainted Astrotrain to the US colors. ;-)

A triple-changer would be quite a feat for the MP line. I too would like to see it done. I can't decide which one I'd prefer to see first, though.

I too would love to see Blitzwing as our next MP. Or as an MP full stop. He's just such a cool tf.

lol I doubt it.

It'd most likely end up being silver jet and green tank.

Although the desert colour of the tank mode wouldn't be much of a stretch :-?

A desert Tank with Purple highlights for the bot and jet modes would be amazing. Maybe, at long last, a Blitzwing with working tracks.

I think this would have the potential of being one of the best MPs. Soundwave seems to be a big favourite, but as always is way to simplistic to be magnificent. Blitzwing could be seriously awesome.

Tracks are always a problem because many TF tanks have to split the tracks for the transform. They would certainly present a challenge.

Seeing as the Masterpeice line is Tkara's, hasbro having the rights to the name is neither here nor there. To be honest I find it difficult to beleive that anybody else would have used the name, especilly for a toy, so Hasbro would proberly be able to use it again.

Takara arnt subject to the same strict laws Hasbro are so use fo the name wouldnt be anywhere near as big an issue for them, regardless of how recenly they had used it.

Well, maybe they could function like Knex tank tracks?

That is they are several sections linked together by hooks.
The could split and attach to the main body in bot mode etc?

I'm sure Takara could do it anyway.

And come to think of it, Blitzwing's G1 colours are pretty realistic anyway aren't they?

Maybe there is hope afterall!

Yes they were. Tank mode was pretty much str8 desert camo. Jet was desert camo wih purple highlights. Bot was purple and desert.

You know, actually, I bet with enough signatures it might get them to do it a a couple of years once they have made a complete Magnus and all the seekers.
