What it looks like to me is you have to punch out the pin in the lower forearm, and that will separate the two pieces. Then you could go in with some clear nail polish to tighten it up. Kind of a pain.
What I'm actually trying is to use small spots of nail polish at a time on the exposed plastic. Then rotating the door around the forearm to spread it around evenly. It'll take a little while but I believe it will work, and be easier to boot.

Wow, Galvatron and Acid Storm have become a pox around here.
Still do not let the possible loose door let anyone be swayed from picking up Sideswipe. He is pure awesome. I wish Sunstreakers engine would've been painted like Sideswipes. In fact I don't even see a reason to pass up the universe versions of him or Silverstreak for the Henkeis. They are both very very nice.

Do you have Prowl? I basically just got my Silverstreak because I love Smokescreen and figured I'd get the full set. Buit really man, this figure is soooo much better than Prowl and may just be the best figure I have bought this year.

And there isn't any more in the store to take it back.
Also, the gun handle on mine is too big and it doesn't fit in the shoulder.
