Okay so this is a question more so for the older folk who didn't end up marrying their high school crushes.
Do you still think of your long lost crush? Do you kick yourself constantly and tell yourself it's time to get over them?
Because I think about mine now and then and now she's found me on Facebook and she's still as gorgeous as ever before and it's stirred up old emotions I don't want anymore!

Heh, I'm only 17, but I have a similar experience. With a twist.
I remember in Infant School there was one girl I was all over. I was one of her best friends, and I never plucked up the courage to say anything. As is the way. And, of course, eventually she had to move away. And I never saw her again.
Until last year when I managed to run into her on MySpace. This girl who I actually sorta waited for (I thought this highly of her) for seven years, or thereabouts. I mean I'd always dreamt of meeting this girl again after so long, and I kinda new I would in a Walt Disney kinda way.
So I met her, and started talking to her again. And you know... Agh... Closure is a wonderful thing. Think of the biggest disappointment in your life, more towards meeting a hero who wasn't quite what you expected, and that's what I had. Somehow over seven years she'd turned into an anti-social, racist, bigot, moronic... I don't even know what to call her. Starting fights with teachers for the hell of it, I mean physical fights. Doing drugs. Having abortions. That whole thing. I waited seven years and it felt like I was being mocked by this girl. It's like if you waited 23 years for the TF movie only to have Prime appear on screen in a dress and get his face smashed on the camera.
So yeah. Not quite high-school, but I think it equates considering the age difference. It was sad for about an hour, then I sorta perked up and laughed at her single digit IQ.
..Last I heard she got kicked out of that school and was wondering why.

Re: Unrequited (sp) High School Crushes
I still think of mine from time to time, but in more of a fond memory kinda way. Do I miss alot of them and sometimes wished I still could just see how the worlds been treating them, well yes to that too.
Hell, I even have a couple that even though we moved on, they got married and what not, and I spent thousands on a toy collection, I still see and talk to them often.
And let me tell you something, THOSE are the ones that to this day would do anything for me. Everytime I go out with them they look at their husbands or whatever across the room and think about the everyday life look at me and, everytime, stare sadly in my eyes and say "you know I made a mistake"
Now keep in mind at this point I look at their kids running around and think "you know I dodged a bullet"
But still, they are trust worthy and true.
Now I'm in all this not because I'm not over anybody, but because it is what it is. If I actualy managed to think fondly of someone once, then there must be some merit to them, and why forget that time I was happy?
If time got in the way of that, and you have a chance to say hello again, and she is looking good, I say go meet up.
Then again, if the relationship ended with either one or both of you planning what to do with the body...
Go, get yours, and be ready with a fake address.

I have a two part answer.
Yes, this happened to me in High School. Theresa Saleda...
I solved that problem by dating her much hotter and 1 year younger sister, Mary. No lie.
To anyone else who turned me down, if they should bother me by showing back up in my life uninvited (lousy bitches), I always just talk and talk about how great my fiance is.
I'm terribly spiteful, not because I'm particularly mean, but more because I like a good story.

Re: Unrequited (sp) High School Crushes
Funny!
I hang out with alot of girls. About a year ago I went to a bar in my town with a group of about 15, it was a birthday or something. She was with a date, that you could tell just from looking at it was boring.
We're on an upper level, and sure enough there's one of my ex's. This relationship didn't end well by a long shot.
There was some singing karioke crap on the main level, as groups kept getting up to sing, she'd try jumping in inthe backround of them to show off that "Look, I'm having fun too!"
Meanwhile on the upper level, we where having a real good time, cause thats what we do.
She kept looking up at us and people in my party started wondering what was up with her cause it was noticable she was staring. I told them the story, the WHOLE story.
2 of the girls Gina and Kelly decided to give her a show and made out with me(thanks) just to see what would happen.
It was hysterical, she stormed out and one of my lesbian friends (thanks Jackie) followed her out to her car and kicked her ass.
As this is one of my favorite stories ever, so I just figured share.
See most of my old relationships ended on a civil note, but for the ones that didn't, well what can I say, pimp'n aint easy, but it has it's rewards!

Yep, I do. Of course, there was a lot of them. (Curse the bad luck of being a nerdy geek *and* boy crazy.
) I even, to my surprise, stood a chance in hell with a couple of them, only to end up not dating either one for reasons that seemed perfectly valid at the time but were dumb with the benefit of hindsight.

Ahh, I'm gonna have to tell this story again, aren't I?
Sophomore Year (10th grade, for those who don't know), there was this girl I knew. Pretty, friendly, smart. Oh, also a druggie.
We'd talk every day before class. Then, one day, she just STOPPED showing up. To anywhere. Ever. No one knew where she went, hell, I didn't even know her last name!
Ah, memories.

Did I mention she's now married and a qualified lawyer? Which would come in handy because there's been many times i've wanted to report her parents to the taxation office?

As for long lost crushes, well I've just recently got mine back and now she's buggered off again to Brazil. Typical.

It's safe to assume that I'm just taking the piss.

Re: Unrequited (sp) High School Crushes
Well, I'm excluded from the primary topic, but... on the subject of how wierd things can turn out:
I found out last Summer that my best friend from grade school was living with (and is now engaged to) my bestfriend/girlfriend from middle school.
Now what's really wierd about that?
They didn't meet because of me (in fact, he'd moved to another town before I met her) - they met in college. Complete coincidence.
Definately makes Missouri seem like a small state.

Considering I'm still trying to get my crush to acknowledge me as more than just the typical friend...I'm not regretting it until I fail like I can guarantee I will....I'm not the romance type.

I'm not one to ask because I broke up with my main high school girlfriend because she was boring and too clingy toward her parents. And, in some cosmic coincidence, ended up moving into my building a few years ago, and now I see quite often how she let herself go. And she hasn't changed her hairstyle in years. It's *cough cough* dated. No pun intended. Really, it wasn't.

Issue 2: Home Sweet Home Invasion also for sale.
Back issue 3: Technophobia coming soon. And you can help!

Re: Unrequited (sp) High School Crushes
i wouldn't consider it an unrequited love, but i do think of one of my exes from time to time. I think its only natural to do so. Although, i also think my interest in this particular fem is that there was never a definate end to the relationship...we both just stopped calling. Of course, my wife would kill me if she knew i even thought about her...

Well count me out, I'm one of those lamo's who is dating their High School Crush.

I assume it still counts if you started dating a month after you finished school right?
