Could use a bit more colour in bot mode, but otherwise think it's allright. Not sure if I'll get it yet though.

Looks nice, but I think I'm gonna stick with the Leader Class when it comes out.

Don't forget LoC and the role play thingy. Hard to tell, but that is based on movie prime.
You know, when I went through the gallery and say Seibertrons comparison to Laser Rod Prime in truck mode I started to think the same thing. Then when I saw the first under belly comparison, I changed my mind. My only gripe about the mould is that the head looks too much like Soundwave to me. Or even a Decepticon symbol. I'm not sure how or why I see it, but that's what pops into mind when I look at the close ups.scaleface wrote:God I hate these movie toys with a passion.
Another beautiful gallery boss monkey. Keep em' coming full steam.

They should have made the piping for the eyes a light blue or something. The problem is his face around his eyes needed to be a different color or something. When you're holding the figure in person, it doesn't really look that bad because you can see the light through the eye pipings.

I think you've managed to show the Eyes really well in the backlit figure. Until I saw that, I wasn't actually sold on the toy until seeing those. It's more effective than people are giving it credit for.

I really hate this head. The figure as a whole is great. Voyagar-class Prime is one hell of a lot better than Leader-class Prime. I'm definitely going to get it. But like I said at the start, I really fraking hate this head. I wish they could have kept it closer to what's being used for Protoform Optimus.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

For those of you who wish to, wouldn't it be possible to swap heads? I don't see how his head could be that much bigger for the Leader Class.

I am going to have to malarky on this figure. That transformation is pathetic. Having 50% of the truck hanging off is back is NOT a transformation. It is basically a figure wrapped in a truck. That is just sad.

I was thinking the same. Couldn't they have made the cab collapse on itself or something? I would have designed it so the cab split in half leaving the roof, windows and seats as a single piece. Then have the halves that split pivot and become flush with his back. Then have the seat, roof etc fold down on a hinge to lay on top of the other panels. It would have cut the backpack down by half and only taken 3 hinges, 6 pins and 4 pivot pins.
Ah well. The rest of him looks good.

I'm passing on Leader-class. I thought they were going to try to get away from the characters being blocky for the movie; imo Leader-class Optimus Prime is a horrific failure to do this. I've already ordered my protoforms from Hasbro Toy Shop, though. Maybe when the toys are in stores I can buy a second Protoform Optimus and two of the Voyagers and kitbash the protoform's head onto the voyager-class.
I can get over the head though. Really. Is it just me or have I had something bad to say about all the voyager-class Autobots Ryan has been able to do galleries for? As I remember, imo the decos of Ratchet and Ironhide should have both been G1-based, and for Prime the head should have been nearer to the protoform. (Or even better G1-based.) In all cases I still mean to get the figures, so it can't really be that bad, can it?

Like this mould much more than the leader class one, but I'll still get them both, just because i like my primes to be leader classed.
However, I'll probably wait until they are discounted to get Leader Prime.
I like the gun smokestack, gives him some well deserved firepower.

what's all this about another paint-scheme for the Voyager Prime? Check out the pics over at TFW2005.com : http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=129307 and some really cool pics here: http://www.actoys.net/bbs/read.php?tid=175008
This one has flames on the front of his legs (though the roof of the truck - that is the part that makes the leg-knee-section - doesn't have any flames), no red detail on his shoulders, no blue detail on the top of his legs, the blue on his belly is replaced with red and the copper around the screws have been painted over red as well...
I hope that one isn't the final version, it's missing alot of the paint apps that make Ryan's Prime look like the actualy movie model. And this toy is already badly in need of paint detailing, there's no need to take away what little colours he has in bot mode.
Also, Ryan did you use the flash in your pics? 'Cuz the Prime in that second link look much brighter blue, I'm wondering what shade he has "in real life"...

Another great gallery, Ryan! I think its awesome that moving to better servers, and adding to the site's content with test shots, prototypes, and even multiples of expensive Japanese releases is what you do with the site's ad revenue. A lesser man would just pocket the cash, but it looks like you put more into this site than you get out of it!
Next time I'm in the states, I'm buying you a round. That'll be my meager contribution to the site, getting our wonderful webmaster drunk enough to relax for a change!

Heh, you and me both.
The Leader Class figure isn't perfect, but it does try to integrate more of the parts into the overall transformation, rather than the Voyager. Like you said, "a cab hanging off the back"....blech.
