A Tyranosaurus type alt mode might be workable. E Cruelock could be a posability although he's more than a little on the small side compared to the G1 Gnaw/Sharkticon mould. Cl Grimlock perhaps? The only decent sized croc/ali alt that springs to mind would be Skullcruncher, but he is a bit of a brick. Bear in mind that the animation in the movie really fudges the transformation sequence, so you may end up having to favour the asthetic of one mode over the other.

Thought I remembered seeing one done a while ago. This may be a little more complex than what you're aiming for but hopefully should provide a few ideas. Just to be clear THIS IS NOT MY WORK.

G1 Jawbreaker/Overbite, the Seacon shark. The Allicon paintscheme on him in the Universe comics really worked. Was ages before I realised I was looking at Jawbreaker.
