Magnus probably isn't all that popular in Japan. A lot of the white prime repaints are from Hasbro I think.

Probably end up being another expensive store exclusive, meaning you wouldn't be saving money by buying it(both Henkei and Botcon Thundercracker cost as much as a Masterpiece version of the toy), and the new colors might not match up with City Commander either.

Somebody pointed out recently that the Prime/Magnus 2 pack had been widely available across Asia and didn't sell particularly well. If that's right then it might explain TakTom's reluctance to issue a Magnus version. Hell we've not even seen the red windowed Nemesis version of the mould outside of a few prototypes yet.

Universe Battle in a box Ultra Magnus (armada dlx Prime repaint)
Classics Ultra Magnus (Classics Prime repaint)
Titanium War Within Ultra Magnus (was this released?)

Takara-
Master Piece Ultra Magnus
Revoltech Ultra Magnus
LaserRod Reissue Ultra Magnus (not totally white)

I think I'm probably missing some repaints from above.

There were two Titanium Ultra Magnuses. Magnus'? Magni? Whatever. And two of the Japanese Magnopi were exclusives (one not even being made by Takara), so I'm not sure that backs up your idea Magnus is just as popular.

My list was just white repaints of an Optimus figure, as thats the topic of this thread. That is why I didn't put the G1 Titanium figure in the list.

As for one of the Takara figures being an exclusive, so was the Hasbro Classic Magnus repaint. And I think the Universe Battle In a Box repaint was an exclusive as well.

Actually, you forgot the G1 Jr. version, but since the Revoltech version wasn't made by Takara, it doesn't count, otherwise, we should also include the statues and busts released in the US that were were white prime repaints.

Anyway, what made me say that Magnus wasn't that popular in Japan were the recent releases of Magnus-esque figures (Music Label, WST, Nike Sports Label) in Japan that were still identified as Prime himself.

Your forgetting G1 reissued Ultra Magnus, and
Blue Powered Convoy exclusive. Plus MP Ultra Magnus, which is also being issued a second time.

Regarding where he is - I sure that Takara has him slated for an exclusive soon.

We're talking about types of molds used, not the number of times a figure has been reissued. Also, the powered convoy doesn't have a white cab, it's got a blue one.

While they might paint the eyes red and plate blue, as were on the Hasbro Optimus/Magnus box, they'd probably make the legs white, ruining how good the thing looks in City Commander.

No, the topic is discussing about whether or not Henkei Ultra Magnus will be issued. A few people are claiming that Ultra Magnus is not popular in Japan and therefore won't be issued. However, I am pointing out that Ultra Magnus has been popular in Japan. There have been plenty of figures released and he has been featured in several Japanese Transformers cartoons.

If you look at the list that Venksta and I were discussing, it was the number of white Prime repaints, not the character of Ultra Magnus. In Japan, Magnus is more popular as the blue and white robot that's separate from prime, unlike in the US, where he's popular in both forms.
