We'll have to agree to disagree, as the series set up pretty early on that Cybertronians(at least Autobots) were protoformed to standard chassis styles(see Bumblebee/Wasp/Cliffjumper and Ratchet/Ironhide) that were identical in appearance other than colors and the occasional head. I wouldn't be surprised if post-Megatron's arrest those that shared chassis styles with Optimus' team would get their alt-modes changed to the earth modes, too.
Derrick J. Wyatt and Marty Isenberg have stated that the events of the Botcon comic were written to tie into the stuff they were working on for the 4th season before it was cancelled.
Screamfleet wrote:The stunticons weren't repaints of anybody though. They were original molds. They took these stylized molds meant, mostly for autobots and shoehorned them to be the stunticons. They have to then take on the character traits of what their original mold was. I mean, dragstrip became a girl. Rodimus has such a unique flair, it's hard to see that toy as breakdown. Poor Wilderider, he's all frakenstein looking. I'd hate to see warpath forced into the shockwave mold, because they're both tanks. So suddenly warpath is a double agent?
