Did Machine Wars Prime come out before BW Primal? I didn't think he did, but I could be wrong. As for the decoy, that's just a rubber G1 Prime, not a new version of Prime. And Star Convoy was never released as "Optimus Prime". Which is why I put PMOP on the list, but not Ginrai.
Seriously though, this thread is not serious. It was just some odd thing I noticed when counting the Optimus toys through their release. I posted it for kicks and giggles.

I think the Machine Wars line came out about the same time the first BW figures hit. When they released MW Optimus is beyond my knowledge.

Why? at the end of his post he said to discuss. Besides, this is a discussion board. A land where mundane things are serious business.

Maybe I wanted you to discuss the humor? Talk about how funny it is that the 8th Prime was a Prime-8?

I don't think it was so much the outdated molds as that it had bad distribution. Kay Bee exclusive madeit difficult to obtain. The experiment failed in that kids couldn't really get the figures easily since they weren't found at Walmart and Target and other mass distribution stores.
I only ended up with a couple while a kid and then bought the complete set a couple years ago. I remember as a kid loving the line as wanted them to go back to cars instead of beasts. 15 years later, I find myself wanting them to go back to beasts. (Funny how that works)
They're still an amazing set of figures.
