I don't think it's even possible for me to "sigh" enuff at that last quote...
Isn't this the same thing OTHERS have been telling you while you have been sobbing and crying to admin to ban people? This is what people have been telling YOU...To leave us alone and let us have our opinions and stop being the host of the show "Cheaters" trying to police everybody...But now you're all about free expression, telling people not to tell you what to do? Man you lose so bad...
You don't know if you're a troll or the guy that polices trolls...Bay "plant" is too good a word for you...
Moving on...as for the whole Jazz debate I think where some people have a problem is that in the cartoon while Jazz was obviously an urban or black character, he still had a sense of good intelligence and was always able to represent himself well even dispite his cliche' lingo...He could have an strategic discussion with Preceptor, a heart to heart with Prime, and later on be jammin it up with Blaster...In the movie he's just a walking cliche' of random urban phrases with really no center to him...That's why I think many people have a problem with how trite he is presented in the movie like a breakdancin' studio thug who can only talk in stereotypical rhetoric in ALL instances...

Thats why I hate Michael Bay.
it's now the same type pricks and sheep who say that 'corny ass artist name here' is the **** because his album went platinum the first week of sales that are saying "oh, if the movie is so bad, why did it make some much money?" or some reasonable facsimile of that argument thereof. I propose a moratorium on using the grosses to butress the 'it was great' argument. Alot of people thought the holocaust was a great idea too, that does not make it good.
screw G1, why could the movie plot not have been as good as the beastwars plot? and don't get me wrong, for some movies there is room for argument, but some movies just suck.
michael bay could have saved this movie, but instead, he made a typical, cookie-cutter action movie. There are alot of people who were so desparate to see their hobby broguth to the big screen that they now bend over backwards to defend it, which I find really dishonest. I can admit that the designs and action scenes were not that bad, but I don't see how someone could believe that:
1) Anthony Anderson's character was really neccessary to the plot.
2)bumblebee peeing on a human was funny
3)Jazz needed to be a 'ghettobot' (scatman is really spining in his grave)
4) the whole backyard scene was not cring-worthy (it makes me irritated just thinking about it)
if anyone can present a cohesive argument as to why these points were vital to the plot progression, I would be suprised and even impressed, but I doubt that will happen. Someone will probably post on how I am a geewunner and afraid of change and what not.
proceed
btw, Beastwars pwns biatch (it's okay cause jazz said biatch in the movie)
Godzilla was a terrible movie, very few people will deny that but it was a financial sucess. Point is Financial success is more times then not is measure with flash over substance Regardless; I can argue about the special effects I didn't enjoy them, but I dont Begrudge anyone who thinks they were good. But the story, plotholes, and bad acting. While my opinion; its hard to believe that anyone could honestly describe it as passable let alone good.KoH4711 wrote:Creature SH wrote:They don't share his hype and budget. Bay's gotten lucky. Ever since "Armageddon", he was able to surf on its wave.
There's one big reason why I don't really think hype or budget alone explain his success: Godzilla.
Creature SH wrote:KoH4711 wrote:If Bay's just making stupid, pointless action movies and has no talent as a director... why do his films consistently make a lot of money, where others don't? If it's such an easy thing, why can't anyone just make a low budget action flick that appeals to the "least common denominator" and be hugely successful?
Because there are more stupid people than intelligent ones, perchance ?

Man its the same crap with you people isnt it? Change the freaking record! All i ever hear is "waaah bumblebee pee'ed on someone! Waaah Jazz was black (even though he was "black" in the original cartoon, so i still dont understand why people are pissed off with this. If anything people should be glad they kept movie Jazz true to G1 Jazz) and he died! Waaah, too many humans! (even though nearly EVERY episode of the cartoon has humans in it, go figure...) Waaah Micheal Bay sucks because he didnt make an oscar winning Titanic and LOTR beater with a subject matter that was always about as complex and deep as Paris Hilton! TRANSFORMERS NEEDS TO BE DEEP AND PHILOSOPHICAL, EVEN IF ITS ORIGINAL SUBJECT MATTER WAS NEVER EVER ABOUT ANYTHING BUT BIG ROBOTS FIGHTING EACH OTHER! ME WANTS TRANSFORMERS TO WIN OSCARSSSS! WAAAAAAH!"

These idiots are really doing my head in. Its like they expect Mc Donalds to suddenly start offering gourmet quisine instead of big macs for the same price! Simply idiotic i say.
Still, their loss.
If you aren't going participate other than to cause an arguement do the rest of us a favour and leave the thread please.
Erm..no, and thats not what im doing anyway. Dont come to me and accuse me of starting anything as that was dealt with ages ago and started by someone else.
All im doing is expressing my opinion just like everyone else is. So if that clashes with yours then thats not my problem, but dont expect me to back down when some idiot tries to shove his bullshit, biased opinion down my throat as i dont take too kindly to that.
Also, dont think you can tell anyone what to do around here, especially me, try not to be so patronizing next time.

Basically? Heh.
No, that's EXACTLY what they're saying. Sad thing is, from interviews with the man, he's anything but lacking in intelligence. Oh sure, he goes for the easy route in some of his movies, and he makes money for movies that some people can't even wrap their minds around.
But that doesn't make him a stupid man. That makes him an intelligent man who knows how to work with the system and fight it if need be.
Sticking to his guns, he made TransFormers the way he wanted to and it's now the 24th biggest film of 2007 for the US. And one of the top three biggest of the year for the entire WORLD. $670million +...and it continues to climb.
More positive, than negative reviews. People enjoyed it, it was fun, and the overall consensus at Yahoo! Movies is a solid B+ for a movie that up until a few years ago, had no legs to stand on.
I'm not sure what pisses the people off more...the fact that he's not stupid, he does know what he's doing, he did turn it into a gigantic friggin' hit.
Or, they can't deal with that because they were wrong about the entire thing...

Alex Kingdom wrote:ZeroZero wrote:Okay... If some of you guys hate Michael Bay so much, then why did you see the movie? No one forced you to watch it.
Because we're Transformers fans, because we wanted to give the movie and Bay the benefit of the doubt. Why didnt we go see it for the sixth or even second time? Why will we not be buying the DVD, the toys, the merchendise? Becuase it was **** that's why. It is moronic to critise fans for going to see a movie about that of which they are a fan. As fan(atics) they will feel compled to go see it regardless of the director. The true sign of approval from any fandom is not if they go see it but if they continue to support it after they have seen it.

Sonray wrote:As far as i could tell, the majority of these fans you speak of DO support it. Havn't you noticed the threads about TF2, and how many people want Bay back to direct the sequel?
Sonray wrote:I think its at least 70-30% in favour of the movie, based on the general response from people on this site alone.
Only 10% of that 30 are legit and beleivable complaints, the rest is all just arrogant, fanboyish, un-educated and biased whining.

Quite possible. However I'd say its closer to 60-40 as lot of fans who didn't like the movie have long since stopped posting here and on other sites due to the arrogant, fanboyish, un-educated and biased opinions of those who refuse to entertain any criticism of the movie no matter how valid. Whatever side of the fence you sit on Fanboys will be fanboys/morons.

Heed your own advice, and learn that no one spells properly around here.
You have the audacity to call me a troll, not only after i just made a very in-depth and educated comment, but considering my post count you hardly have any grounds to call ME, of all people, a troll.
You are the only one trolling around here, so bite me.

No AK, I think you'll find they stopped posting because they had their say and moved on.
Something you said you were going to do.
It's funny how some of the arguments i've seen from the "haters" have been filled with arrogance, insulted the intelligence of those who liked the movie, and branded themselves as "true" fans and elevated themselves above others.
Are the supporters of the movie without sin? Hell no. I've seen plenty of idiotic, rude, moronic and insulting comments from some.
But the one thing i've seen a lot of is a number of the "haters" who simply cannot accept that people enjoyed this movie and feel the need to harp on about it incessantly with a "i'm right and that's all that matters" attitude.
Do the "supporters" do it? Some sure, but i've seen more from the "hater" side of things. Funny though, when a "supporter" does it they get branded trolls but it's perfectly okay for them to do it.
People liked it, accept it.
People hated it, accept it.
Frankly I think the time for ramming opinions down each others throats is long gone now. Nothing either side does is going to change anything.
Oh and wingdarkness, feeding trolls is just as bad as being one, especially when you feed them with flame baits, might want to think that before elevating yourself over the rest of us unevolved apes.
