I only have 1 alternator. ;o; Hot Rod.

Even though the others are expensive, heck, once I save enough money... just wait.... (after I get OP mp-4 that is XD lol) juuuuust wait.

Alternators...damn you!

As I browsed the character database here to see all the stuff I missed through years of not collecting, I discovered the Alternators. They look so good!

RIght now, I have:

Rollbar (fr. Hasbro Toy Shop)
Sunstreaker (fr. Hasbro Toy Shop)
Ricochet (fr. Hasbro Toy Shop)
Skids (fr. Walmart's website)
Shockblast (fr. Mape's Toys, Narberth, PA)
Meister/Jazz (eBay)
Optimus Prime (eBay)
Smokescreen (eBay)

Has anyone bought the sticker set for Meister from Repro Labels? Is it worth it? The pix in the database here look pretty good...just wondering what others think.

I should have picked up Silverstreak since I saw him the same day I saw Shockblast. I was being cheap and also didn't realize I'd never see him again. Oh well....

You know, I kinda wish my Megatron had the plug that came outta Japan. Alas, I think Capturedprey.com removed it to keep their promise.

Good to see I'm not the only one who keeps his BT/Alternators in car mode

My room looked like a car dealership for about three months.

It's hard to see in the photos, but I own two Jazz kits [along with many of the Reprolabel kits]. Quality work and highly recommended.

In fact, Wheeljack's stickers are Reprolabels as well.

Well I've been playing a bit of catchup. I got Ravage and Rumble, and my Sideswipe just came in today.

Sideswipe feels a pit flimsyer in Alt mode than Rumble or Ravage though, did they change plastics?

I eBayed off a bunch of my old games and Gamecube so I've got Tracks, and 2 Grimlocks on the way too. I think I may shoot for at least one of every mold now.

You can always get the Binaltechs(die-cast) instead if you don't like the plastic. I liked Shockwave so much that I bought the Binaltech and sold my Alternator version.

A shame the line is dead now, it was the one of the best IMO. :-(

The Binaltech ones are even more expensive though aren't they? I't not realy a big deal i just noticed the difference between him and so the other, later, ones that I have.

Also isn't paint rub off an issue with Binaltechs?

They are more expensive for the die-cast content.
I'm sure the paint could possibly chip off, but I have never had a problem and I own several. Anyone had this happen?

Only if you're really playing hard with them. But as many have mentioned before, don't be swayed by the myth of Takara Superiority. Just cause it has Diecast and paint doesn't make it better. It'll all come down to personal preference, but if you're looking to pose your alts in bot mode, the added weight can hender your effort. Some joints tend to be looser than others and I know for a fact that the foot spurs [heels] on that Mazda molds can't quite hold the weight of the metal in the bodies.

Besides, the entire body isn't metal, and in cases like Windcharger, Takara opted to paint the metal and do a best guess match to the plastic panels leaving those unpainted. It honestly looks like crap down on the rocker panels.
