74' bumblebee problem question

Postby magnusupreme » Wed Jul 18, 2007 3:05 pm

I was reading the old topic about the bumblebee problem and I went one http://www.transformers.wikia.com to find out how to not break him and I skimed & scamed the 74' bumblebee toy section and at the end of a paragraph it says "Push the button or you'll break him. Seriously" is that true?

Weapon: Double-Barreled Assault Missile Launcher
True, depending on the version. I have the corrected one and it's worked perfectly through a dozen or so transformations so far.

Weapon: Switch Blade Tail
Simple rules of thumb:

1.) (And this is the big one) Follow the instructions to the letter. They're made specifically for this reason, not to hinder your wonderment with the toy, but to aid you to be able to enjoy it fully.

2.) Be careful. These figures are some of the most intricate and complex figures I've ever had in my collection. It's insane, the amount of work that went into these, and as such, they must be dealt with, with a delicate hand. If you treat them well, they'll return many happy memories.

3.) Don't panic. If you think the figure's broken, there's still a very good chance that he isn't and something's just catching on something else. (It happens) Fully investigate whether or not it broke, and if it did...see if it's something can easily be repaired. If not, you could try exchanging it for another figure. Wal-Mart does say "Satisfaction Guaranteed, Or Your Money Back!!!" and I'd say your satisfaction just went in the toilet after having him break on you. (which your's didn't, but you get my point.) Now granted, most of the breaks have been done by human interaction, therefore resting on your shoulders, and making a return with this now defective item sits on the moral/ethical fence. In the end, it's all up to you, but if all you did was press the button and it breaks? Oh hell no, you're entitled to an exchange at least, if not a full refund.

thanks for the advice and I haven't actually got this toy yet but I will be getting but I have to look for the 2 small tabs instead of the 1 small tab and 1 fat tab.

I dont understand the question? But i can say that the automorph and transformation of my apparently "defective" bumblebee is perfect, and looks that way when in car mode and bot mode. There isnt a thing wrong with it.

It works because there is nothing wrong with it. It is 100% perfect and as it was intended to be. I still dont understand what you are saying, but if you can understand english then me telling you that my 74 BB is working perfect is all you need to know.

I'm pasting this from one of my earlier replies, for those that're still having problems with the BB:

You're not supposed to push the button in with one finger, smack dab in the center. Unless you have a fat thumb, it's kinda pointless, since the springs and triggers are located left and right of center.

Instead, use two thumbs, put them on the left and right sides of the button, and THEN push down. Should work perfectly, with minimal force.

First time I tried to transform him, I pushed the button as hard as I could in the center, to no avail. I then used two thumbs, with less force than with one thumb, and kazaam, it magically worked.
