Postby Mr.RobotoAutoMan » Tue Jul 03, 2007 1:54 am

i mean they were actually showing the 1986 TF movie in the lobby while i was buying my nachos. and when i went inside the room instead of having those ad's they were actually playing a full lenght TF-G1 cartoons!!!

crowd reaction was great. there were lots of cheers for BB and OP. lots of laughs for anthony anderson and especially frenzy!! also ppl cheered for the simpsons movie and harry potter trailer. the weirdest thing was ppl actually cheered for that weird trailer with the explosion. kind of odd but i was like what the heck. what was your crowd reaction?

I don't know ware you people live, but down hear in southern California, my movie theater only had one room with one showing tonight, and it was barely crowded.

On the bright side, the people who did show up broke out into spontaneous applause every now and then during the movie.

Also, the weird trailer got move blank stares than cheers.

People clapped at the end here, and there were points where you could tell where the nerds were in the theater because they were the only ones laughing at certain lines. Like Sam telling Mikaela that she's more than meets the eye. That was a big one.

There was a guy behind us who whistled.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I probably would have been one of the nerds in the crowd had I been there.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

The thearter had it on one screen unless they converted other screens for it. But the crowed did the normal crap cheered laughed applauded. it was kinda anoying. You miss so much dialog and crap like that because of it. But it is nice to see so many transfans. Evrey other person had a TF shirt. I myself had on my Cobra-Con shirt and TF novie hat.

And this is why I'm glad I'm going to see it at a drive-in.

Don't get me wrong, the audience adds ambiance to the experience, but as it was said here...they also detract from it as well.

For my money, I want to be able to enjoy the whole damned thing and hear it in peace. None of this "OMG! THAT'S NOT OPTIMUS PRIME!" crap. (and you just know someone, somewhere said that line..and there was someone behind him wanting to gut him right there.)

The theater here was about 75% full at the 8 o clock showing. Crowd reaction was very positive. Young adult males 20 -30+ years old seemed to dominate the audience.

It was the loudest crowd for any movie I have ever seen. You couldn't find a place to sit by 7:30 last night for the 8:00 show. It was insane.

at the 11:45 pm showing, my theatre in mesa, arizona was about 75% full.

Bear in mind i have already seen the movie on June 28th.

This crowd was not as.. enthusiastic. They still laughed at all comedic parts, but were not as pumped up/psyched as the first crowd.

Also, I saw it at the Harkins at Az mills mall on june 28, and today i saw it at AMC, and the sound at harkins was sooo much better than at AMC.

On a good note though, i saw one fan actually make himself a ghetto costume out of carboard, looked kinda like a washer/dryer cardboard box transformer or something made of cardboard and duct tape ;) it was nice to see. He liked my voice changer helmet and supersoaker though, and i complimented his hard work.

In Hungary, the theater on the premiers' day (jun.29) was 90% full! On other days, it was around 70-80%. These are big numbers here, no other movie got so much viewers in this year! (Well, it hadn't got so much viewer since SW3)

I posted this elsewhere, but I'm happy to repost...

I live in Virginia Beach VA. It was sold out for five theaters last night. The one I was in was not completely full, so I don't understand how it could be sold out.

Everyone in the theater was quite and unresponsive for the most part. They laughed where they should have laughed, but for the most part, I was the only one making any noise. At the end, I started the clapping and others joined in.

But the movie was awesome! Worth seeing again and again.

After the show, all the nerds went to Wal-Mart to buy the movie toys. It was pretty awesome.

My local theater in St. Petersburg FL had the movie playing at 8, 8:30, 9, 9:30, 10, and 10:30. I went to the 9pm show and a friend of mine bought the tickets earlier in the day just in case it was packed. Unfortunately it was not. There were only about 15 or twenty people in the theater. I'm guessing that either most people went to the 8 and 8:30 shows or no one really knew it came out today instead of tomorrow. :-? As far as crowd reaction, the lights went out someone yelled "Optimus Prime for God." which I found interesting because I didn't know that God was an elected position or that Prime was even running. :P

I live in Long Island, N.Y. The theater I saw it in had 8 and 11 p.m. shows for three screens. I got there 45 minutes early (715 pm.) and there was a line of people 70 deep with tickets already waiting to get into the theater.

My theater was about 80 percent full and mostly 20-30s guys.

"Wow, there is a lot of testosterone in here," my wife said.

I wore my Autobots t-shirt and my wife wore a Barricade Decepticons t-shirt. Okay...I made her!

People were yelling "Start the movie!" once 8 p.m. hit. There were plenty of Transformers t-shirts, a few voice changer helmets and one awesome 1984 t-shirt.

The J.J. Abrams, Manhattan explosion trailer was amazine. Living in New York, everyone was captivated watching NYC getting torn up. Then there was a collective WTF?!! when they didn't give the movie title followed by a brief pause and then everyone clapped.

The crowd was really into the Transformers movie throughout. Wild applause and cheers for the opening, Blackout's tranformation and tons for Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Starscream was well received too. The loudest applause was for Prime when he owned Bonecrusher with his energon Sword and at the end.

Great crowd, great movie.

Pretty much the same thing at my theater and my friend called them nerds as well haha.

There was a lot of people cheering with Optimus Prime and a lot of laughs with the funny, but no pun quotes and when I say no pun I mean like the More than Meets the Eye one I quoted above.

Our theater filled up and I was glad because that morning when my friends got tickets they asked how many seats are opened and the guy said 380 were and they all looked at me as if the movie was unpopular and was gonna suck balls.

Glad it didn't :D

South of Pittsburgh they had multiple shows and the 8:00 pm showing I was at only filled up 2/3 of the way. However there was one or two other 8 pm shows in the theater, as well as an 11:00 pm and about 20 other theaters were showing it last night as well.

Our experience kind of got ruined...
[SPOILERS]

About halfway through the movie (right when Sector 7 comes to Sam's house) someone pulled the fire alarm and everyone had to evacuate the theater. By the time we got back in someone had taken our seats (and we had good seats). Then they finally restarted the movie and backed it up to the beginning of the whole "Sam's House" scene, which was a good scene but we wanted to get on with the rest of the movie. Then that wasn't even the end! Right when Megatron, Optimus, and Sam fall to the ground with the allspark, the movie stopped. It just stopped. About 15 minutes later it started up again but I know we missed something because it went right into Sam killing Megs with the Allspark : (

But don't tell me about it because I'm going to see it again tonight!

My theatre was playing the movie at eight and nine. I went to the eight pm showing and it was almost full. I think a couple of people applauded at the end of the movie. no one was wearing any Transformers shirts and hats, I don't know if there were any Fans there. I guess they were "Nerds in disguise!"

When I got to the theater, there were three people in goffy costumes, and two with the voice changer helmet.

Before the film started, the manager of the theater walked in and said that we were part of a sold out screening, which is something since there were five rooms showing the film.

As for the film itself, it was good. People laughed at things like Bumblebee playing "Baby come back" and cheered at scenes like when Prime finally took his truck mode. The person next to did remark that Frenzy shouldn't have been able to get to Barricade that easily. For that matter, I was surised Frenzy could sneak around the plane that easily. But as for Frenzy himself, once you see him crack his knuckles before going to work, you can't help but love the little bugger.

My favorite part, as others have said, was the Autobots trying hide while Sam was looking for the glasses, particularly when they all transformed and sat on the lawn.

My only complaints are that Prime and Megatron didn't get that much of a fight, and that Barricade and Skorponok are unaccounted for at the end of the film.

I went to the drive-in to see it, and I'm glad I did. I was able to hear it and enjoy it personally. No hootin', hollerin', yellin', screamin', clappin' (I really get irritated by the clapping)...

It was a nice experience.

I missed the 7pm showing, because it was sold out when I got there. I got the impression the 8:30 show I did get into was also sold out, though I didn't actually check. Didn't see anybody in cardboard door-wings, and so felt guilty for the lack of a show we fans were putting on. Then I remembered that this is KANSAS, where we still burn witches. Or drop houses on 'em. Or whatever.

We were crammed in like sardines, and I missed quite a few lines due to crowd laughter. Good excuse to go see it again this week. I was heartened by the response to the G1 references. There were couples on either side of me, and in both cases the guy was explaining certain things to the girl. Of course, there were the hardcores hanging around after the show, discussing--how many of you are online tonight?

Wow, I wish the theater I went to did something like that. But then, that would be cool and we can't have that. I was kind of disappointed how the theater treated the movie. It was on three screens (which was okay), but it they weren't the largest screens in the movieplex. I think the largest went out the Die Hard 4 (which was playing on a rediculous 5 screens). On the other hand, the theater I was in was sort of full, not packed...we could easily get seats.

I was also very disappointed that they no longer offered free refills on large sized items like they used to, which is stupid because we paid ten bucks for one large drink and one large popcorn (I mean common! You pay that much, you can offer at least one refill).

Audiance treated the movie well. I saw a very mixed crowd between kids, teenagers, and even a few seniors in there (which totally surprised me because they didn't have any children with them). I didn't hear anything jeers, even on some of the cornier stuff, there were a lot of cheers and laughs (especially at the parts were Bumblebee was using his radio to play songs for Sam and Mikaela.)
