I've been wondering about the Focus on Decepticons book that comes out next week. A couple of things I would like to know is:

1. Is it something that I need to buy to keep up with the IDWverse?
2. Is there a story in it? (I've looked at a press release and it seems as though its like a behind-the-scenes thing)

I also don't know what it is, but they had me at "Decepticons" and I'm definately picking it up.

Yeah, that's the press release for All Hail Megatron - what I want to know is, does "Focus on" lead into All Hail?

For some reason I'm thinking it is a reference book. Full page pin-ups with character profiles maybe. Sounds good to me.

For a long time I thought Focus On was All Hail, but I switched to the theory above. For something coming out so soon, there isn't a lot of buzz about it. Maybe there have been Focus On issues before and everyone just assumes everyone else will know what they are. I don't though. I have no idea what a Focus On issue is.

From what i've gathered, it appears to be as preview book. Behind the scenes info, concept art, interviews with creators, etc. I have also heard that it will include an 8 page preview of All Hail Megatron. I can't remember my exact sources, but the solicitation, Ryall's blog, and the idw forums should have all of that info. But I can say with authority that it is a preview book to hype up 'all hail' which will be IDW's longest story arc for TF's to date.

That has been my understanding of it too, more of a teaser, perhaps even a few page "Catch-up" story as well.

Yeah, I think I'll pass on it, too. I'm going to take the two/three month break until All Heil Megatron & the Revelations series come out.
