When he first introduced himself, and had all that "hip" stuff going on, I thought to myself "Oh boy, I hope he dies".

Thankfully, Michael Bay delivered.

i thought it was a pretty awesome death scene, quick and unexpected, but still pretty awesome

Maybe Michael Bay himself saw that too, and hoped he dies.

Well you know that an auotbot had to die in the movie... I mean all those Decepticons getting owned? they had to even it out by killing at least 1 autobot... I think they did it because all the auotbots talked more than him.... I mean Ratchet and Ironside had some sweet parts towards the end

I thought it was awesome when megatron ripped him in half, sucked that it had to be jazz though

no where near as cool as when Scatman crothers did his voice

I think that, badassitude aside, Megatron got so little screen time that he deserved to at least kill SOMEBODY.

I agree Megs should have killed somebody, and given that Jazz spoke BET afterdark, he became the most likely canidate.

I'm not glad he was the one wacked, all my non TF fan friends will say they killed the only black bot, but If not him then who?

Bay manage to do something any non TF-fan could follow but no TF-fan would expect. As some have pointed out Jazz survived TF:TM. I like the 80s jazz, but this one was a bit over the top stereo type, although given hisreference it did make since. I just don't think i'ld want to risk thinking of Jazz as the jarjar binks of TF:Bayformers and am a bit releave they killed him because of it.

Just to let everyone know, according to the Target exclusive G1 repaint of movie Jazz...

Jazz is rebuilt by Ratchet!

I think the repaint is a homage to G1. No connection to the movie.

I think so, Megs as the leader. They should portray him more as the re-union of all Decepticons after the decepticons in command yell "ALL Hail Megatron" and Megs meet them and take the position of lead them to against Autobots not by seperate portray Megs after he awake and jump to ripped Jazz in half while I can't catch when it begin that Meg get Jazz.

C'mon ...consider Jazz is one of Prime's best warriors but see they just give Jazz show his ability short and this was not worth him any more.

If Megatron came out with some coherent planning, or just wait for the Decepticons to assemble before engaging... the Autobots will be wiped out easily.
That is, based on the size discrepancy and the strength and fire power of each group according to Bays' idea, as portrayed in the movie.
We wouldn't be just talking about Jazz.

I just think opposite Bay in this case. The decepticons could re-union before battle. Consider how many decepticons leave before the last battle. Frenzy and Scorponok dead. There are Meg, Starscream,Blackout, Bonecrusher, Barricade(Disappear)

Autobots rime, Bumblebee, Jazz,Ironhide, Ratchet and the humans Sam ,Soldier and Sector 7 and the Jet over the sky

For sure Starscrem will not stay at ground as Megs will command him to defeat the soldier's Jet. he will transfer to jet, fly and shooting in sky and he may be shoot Megs as someone said and fly back to cybertron without care of Megs dead.

While the leave decepticons were Megs, Blackout,Bonecrusher stay for fighting.

They made the Autobots get the power enough along with human side to fighting the decepticion, I see Bay let it just easy kill Blackout by the human soldier and it was not far out from his planning.

I was really disappointed that Jazz died, but the more I thought about it the sense it made. He was the smallest and most impulsive. In my opinion was made canon fodder from the beginning, with Ratchet and Ironhide having specific jobs (medic and weapons specialist) and Bumble being so important. I agree that Megatron needed to kill someone and Jazz was really the best for it to happen to.

They could have just fielded in Smokescreen rather than Jazz, as among the first 5 autobots for the movie. I think Smokescreen was killed in some tv episodes or comics series? Or was it Prowl? I'm not sure which.
Anyway, my point is, Smokescreen or any of his fellow look-alikes, have basically the same transformation as Jazz. And with cars just as cool in the original G1 episodes. So it won't be difficult to make Pontiac Solstice as Smokescreen instead. Then have Jazz arrive in Movie#2.
They gave Jazz crap voice and personality in the movie anyway. Way too distant from the original cool voice and fantastic personality of the original Jazz.
So why waste such a well-developed character?

Make Smokescreen a Pontiac Solstice, and kill him.
Fans win.
Bay wins.
GM wins.
Jazz wins.

Everybody wins.

yeah,there was no evidence but my opinion is Scorponok has a symbiltic relationship with Blackout, he hiding within Blackout and waiting Blackout to command and kill. He may not dead but at last bettle Blackout didn't use him as the buddy warrior, so it can assumed that Scorponok was not ready to fight. If Blackout dead, Scorponok suppose to be dead too.

kinda wish jazz would have died in his asteroid protoform comming to earth. would've fixed that whole problem

I'm hoping Jazz might return or make an appearance in TF2. See the bio for G1 redeco Jazz 2007.

Unless they can fix his characterization(or what little of it XDD) I hope he stays dead. It still bugs me that he's smaller than BUMBLEBEE!
