Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

It's like hacking while playing Counter Strike
It gives you an unfair advantage and pisses everyone else off

Long term effects include adrenal and thyroid problems, renal failure, cirrhosis, cerebral vascular accidents (strokes), sudden onset of cardiac problems, and death. That's a just a few...if this were a LEGAL drug, someone would have sued the maker for negligence in allowing the med on the market, such as with phen-phen, Vioxx, Thalidimide, etc.

Interesting philosophical question however: if it were legal, wouldn't everyone be able to use them?

Yea, but wouldn't that just make the game even more boring?
It would come down to who had the better 'roids
As far as I'm concerned pro sports is just ridiculous.
A guy hits/trows balls for millions of dollars a year while a cardiologist or neurosurgeon pulls in 150,000-300,000 and their job actually benefits mankind through saving lives
To me its just ridiculous and obscene that they get paid so much

On that note, consider this: these 700 guys do their job batter than any other person on the planet..out of 6.5 billion people. Now, the top CEO's in the world make equivalent percentage money. The top lawyers, the same. Doctors? Same. If you are the best at what you do, you should make more money than everyone else, period. It doesn't matter what field you are in; if you are the number one person in your field OUT OF 6.5 billion people on the planet demand is going to be high. As a result, the price increases. It all comes down to supply and demand.

Ah, the typical anti-drug response: No good, all bad, and everything is lumped together in one category: Drugs.
It's used for building and/or rebuilding muscle tissue, and you honestly can't think of a good use for rebuilding muscle tissue?
But, yeah, you're right. Anabolic steroids, horrible drug. No uses at all. Whatsoever. Period. Won't help anyone, ever.
