Final ep prediction.

The Galactica will jump in, launch vipers, and engage Cavill's forces.

A raptor with Adama, Roslin, Cap 6, Baltar, Tirol, and Helo will break in to rescue Hera. Helo will shoot Cavill in the head and just as the are about the make it back to the Raptor, Galactica will explode as a ship of a new design jumps in.

The New Ship will be crew entirely by Daggits, and attacks everything killing human and cylon alike until everything goes white and a booming voice proclams "ENOUGH".

For the one true God has finally arrived with the death of Hera, and he's pissed. (He also looks likes Dirk Benedict.)

All the key players then appear dressed all in white in the grand hall of the "Ship of Light" where "God" tells them that this has all happened before and it will all happen again. And again, and again til they get it right.

Huge rewind montage pulling back over the three seasons, then back over the original series into a flash of light.

The image comes back on the image of a small village, "God" watching from a distance.

"God" > How many times will this take?
(footsteps approch from behind)
"Zarak" > As many times as it needs to, I guess.
"God" > You know Apollo, I thought we had it this time.
Apollo/Zarak > It was promicing Starbuck, but I guess it wasn't going to work seeing I had to get involved to get things as far as they did.
Starbuck/God > At least we got something interesting this time didn't we. Well it's your turn at being God. Are you ready Kara?
(Camera pan to reveal Kara Thrace)
Kara > As I'm going to be, are you fraking sure you want 'Me" to do this?
Starbuck/God > It's why you're here.
Apollo/Zarak > You can't do any worse than we did.
(Kara turns away and looks to the village. She stars moving towards it.)
Kara > Right then, let's get this fraking started.
(end scene, fade to black, roll credits)

Well, it's over, and WOW.

Okay, folks, if you haven't seen the finale and don't want to be spoiled, stop reading NOW!

Spoiler Space

Oh. My. God. Okay, that was awesome. Little bit of a letdown with Starbuck. Apparently, she's been dead ever since the Viper crash? And God resurrected her, and now He just took her home? Meh. The rest of the finale, however, was fantastic. Baltar & Caprica's storyline was great. As well as the ending scene with "Baltar" and "Caprica" the angels(?). I'm sure I could say a thousand other things, but I'll stop now. I love this series.

Complaining...

I was disappointed by this episode. A very unsatisfying resolution to the war, Cavil's death in particular felt like a bit of a cheat. "Frak! *Pop*"

So what happened to Starbuck being the angel of death? Wasn't she supposed to lead them all to their doom?

I also watched the "last frakkin' special" before this, and I just get the feeling the whole thing was written from episode to episode rather than having a larger overall plan.

The opera house visions that have been going on and off for what seems like forever now, turned out to be utterly pointless. Not even a hint of surprise from them, "Oh was that it?" was all it got out of me.

And so the entire species thinks it'll be a fabulous idea to destroy all their technology and lead primitive lives in a foreign world where they could all be wiped out by disease and predators, with no way to protect themselves from anything. Brilliant.

That aspect of the plot was completely unbelievable, sure it looks impressive as a grand gesture, but it wouldn't actually happen.

Good point: I love watching the modern Centurions, because they're so shiny and uber badass. When the old fashioned Centurions started showing up it was an "omg lol" moment, but still pretty cool.

And uh... Yeah, I like the centurions. I can't think of any other good points.

Overall it was ... okay.

Tekka pretty much summed up what I found a little odd or disappointing.

The Cylon Colony ... was it me or did it look like one of the Shadow ships from Babylon 5?

I will give them credit, they wrapped everything up. Some of the wrap ups may have been dodgy, but at least they tied up all the loose ends.

Cavil's suicide did seem like more than a bit of a cop-out.

And they never answered the question of the Daniel. Sure, they never actually said he/it was still around somewhere, but they did purposely say it had been "corrupted" not "destroyed". Seems it was destroyed after all.

And the whole Starbuck as the angel of death bit, that fell short as well.

Yeah the colony vessel did look like the shadows ship from B5

I loved this

I loved seeing the origional Cylons and the new vbersions duking it out

I agree why would you give up your technology and why would over 38,000 people sgree to that
But in order for this planet too really be Earth and not another planet Moore had to use real Earth History
When they showed NYC at the end It did my confirmation they were on Earth in the past but 150,000 years ,wow

Anybody spot Ron Moore in this episode?

It was sad seeing the fleet being steered by Anders into the sun but cool to hear the origional Galactica theme

I knew Laura Roslyn was going to die but it was still sad to see it happen

Anybody cath the ad for the new BSG movie in the fall about the Cylons?

Oh one last thing I wonder what becaome of the centaurians when they left with there baseship from Earth

To me, that just leaves a door open for a Cylon return in present time.

Just imagine how advanced they'd be after 150,000 years if they allowed their programming to evolve.

I am guessing along the lines that galatica will jump but the number before she is destroyed was overstimated and she suffers sever damage. Leaving adama to do a pegasus on the colony
Starbucks destiny is finally revieled something to do with her father might even be to do with the missing cylon.
Chief kills boomer whilst saying some line about her creation and how he made her is some image (Come on we all saw that coming)
£ of the final 5 get destroyed (atleast i wouldnt be suprised if it was Tigh his wife and the chief Tigh and his wife go out spouting some lines about there love for each other
Balatar finally gets his conscience and heroically saves six and others leading to his death
Basically i am predicting that there will defo be a large body count by the end credits

But what gets me is that they havent touched on the cylons from razor at all are they going to make a suprise apperance or atleast some of the surviviors from the basestar they destroyed

Dude, it's already aired. :P

Anyhoo, back to the Starbuck thing being the "Angel of Death".

I had a thought pop into my head, and when you think about it, she, as the Angel of Death, did in fact lead the 12 Colonies to their doom.

That civilisation ended, they gave up technology and started a new civilisation on a new planet, and breeding with the native populace will create a different strand of human.

So in a way, she was the death of the 12 colonies civilisation.

Wow. It's scarynuts how much that makes sense.

I've also been hearing people complain about how they didn't like the ending or that they didn't understand it. I really take issue with that, because I personally found it awesome. My belief is that those who think that way are ignorant of two very important facts.

First off, the end of anything, be it a TV series, a novel, a movie based on a fictonal work, or this, that or the other, usually doesn't live up to the expectations people build up in their minds anyway. People who follow a series like this usually have an ending in mind that goes completely against what the creators might want, and take issue with it when it doesn't go their way.

There's also the fact that this is what I like to term "a thinking man's ending." It basically says that humanity as we know it today is descended from the Colonials and the Cylons, and that we're now approaching the point where they were back when the series began, so we'd better watch out, or this will happen again, just like it did before. Looking back at how they got there, I think it's a better ending than a "blow them up and see you some other time" ending.

Not to correct you DB, but I think the idea is (in relation to AI) that we are where things are for the Caprica series.

(DB you are local as well, did you catch the usage of Granville station in the Caprica ads?)

And spoiler alert for anybody who hasn't watched it yet, though if you are here then it's your own damn fault.

I guess I was right with my prediction (which was a complete farce anyways) about:
-- Cavill dieing from a shot to the head. (incorrect who shot him, anyone else feel let down by that?)
-- Kara being supernatural. (just disappearing like that is crap thou, would have been nice for her to pop up in NY with the others)
-- and the cycle continues.

On the whole, I enjoyed the end, and thought that it did it's job of wrapping everything up neatly. I have a few grumbles about Cavill, Kara's "giving up the ghost", and the whole opera house=CIC what the frak, but it was good, and the the good parts:
-- Roslyn's death
-- Sam's leading the ships to the sun with the original colonial march music
-- Tyrol snapping (w=b) witch Tori's neck.
-- the revelation that the six and baltar apparitions were 'angels' and not wacko delusions/transmissions/whatevers

easily make up for the bad.

The other thing to is people should be happy they GOT an ending.

How many shows have finished a season with a cliffhanger only to be cancelled never to return?

Most recent was Jericho, MAJOR cliffhanger and was cancelled soon after. It was only after intense pressure that the network gave in and order seven episodes just to tie up the storyline.

And from what i've heard the same has happened with Kyle XY.

They could have done the same with BSG, but they put a plan in place to wrap it up, and whether it was a good wrap up or not, it's better than what some others have gotten!

Well, since Caprica more or less led to the start of BSG, it's not that difficult to draw the parallel.

:BOT: Didn't get a chance to post this from the weekend...

Great ending to the series!

Favorite moments right off the bat:

-Galen killing Tory. What a way to close that plot line! And that moment caused all sorts of **** to hit the fan at the same time.

-Drunk Saul. YyyyyyyeeeaaaAAAHHHHHH!

-Kara Thrace being an angel. Now that came out of nowhere for me (even though Baltar claimed it a few episodes ago :)). I was so sure that she would end up with Lee.

-I'll have to rewatch the episode where they find "Earth." I was thinking of the episode from the end of Season 3 with the image of North America. I just assumed they "Earth" they found was the same one and could've sworn they showed familiar continents. I wonder if they intentionally did not show the face of the planet. :CON:

Just found this thread, had to comment- the space scenes when the big G rams the Colony, then later when the colony is blowing up and Starbuck jumps the ship away- THE most awesome shots in the whole series.

Then poor Galactica's partial break-up, also just incredible to watch. Poor old gal.

I love the idea of their using Anders to spoof the Colony's hybrid, similar to the Star Trek TNG episode "Best of Both Worlds 2" when Data connects to the Borgh collective. Not surprising given the Ronald Moore worked on TNG too.

Awesome finale, my wife jumped when Starbuck disappeared.
