And the *entirety* of Season Three of TFA had that hasty-sloppy feel.

HK, but maybe I just like Strika.

Yeah, Season 3 of Beast Wars suffers from introducing way too many upgrades in such a short time. It's the season that most feels like a toy commercial. Why upgrade Cheetor, Black Arachnia, and Megatron at all if they barely get any screen time? Then there's Tigerhawk, one of the most powerful yet underdeveloped characters ever, who basically gets introduced and dies.

Season 3 is pretty fun yeah, but I think they should have put the upgrades in the show earlier.

Agreed on Tigerhawk but not the others. Cheetor I don't think should of been upgraded at all. TM2 Cheetor Is by far the uglyist transformer in exsistance. That's a bit of an overstatement but still he is far worse than any Beast Machines design.

As a huge Beast Wars fan, who has seen both series completly, avoid this series, it's for the better.

Having seen every episode on youtube (I know a guy), I personally wouldn't waste $45 bucks on this short series, it's still good, and yes, I guess it is a bit darker then Beast Wars. The designs are ugly (ESPECIALLY Nightscream and Technorganic Silverbolt, and Blackarachnia isn't exactly a trophy bot), and the morphing is quite stupid. However, it does have pretty good writing. In fact, it seems like they had a lot of time to write and about two weeks to come up with new designs and animate them.
Also, there are some weird moments in the series, such as Nightscream becoming bestest friends with Noble after talking to him for about a minute and 30 seconds, then having him go a bit crazy, but Nightscream is still like "he was my best friend" and stuff. I found that strange. Also, the ending, in my opinion, although I haven't seen the ending of each of the Unicron trilogy shows, RiD, and G1, I can honestly say the very end is the stupidest ending that a Transformers series that I have seen. I mean, really? Cybertropolis just disappears and is replaced by technorganic grass and hills, and there's a big sun, and all the citizens they were too lazy to fully animate come running down the hill. THAT was stupid.

Also, I'm not sure I completely agree on the 'darker' part, yes, most of the Maximals are dead, everything is ruled by Megatron and they need to constantly escape his Vehicon drones, but it's never really portrayed to serious or scary. It could have actually been much scarier, or a borderline horror, but it's quite downplayed.

...Just watch it all on youtube, I wouldn't waste $45 bucks on Beast Machines. It is good, but not $45 good.

I haven't bought it, and it seems I will not...

I just thought Beast Wars ended kinda abruptly. I always thought there was story after. Apparently Beast Machines was it, but it didn't live up to BW.

It's like the Holocaust of the Transformers.

This shows animation was superior to beastwars but story sucked!
Teen bat, and the origins of cybertron just wrong!
It was clear the writers had no idea about the transformers

It's....not a bad series, honestly. It's just a bad follow-up to Beast Wars. If it had nothing to do with Beast Wars or, hell, if Beast Wars never existed, Beast Machines might not have been as ill-received as it was.

Sadly, as things are, everyone has been turned into wussier or douchier versions of their former Beast Wars characterizations so...yeah...

Remember in some episodes of the G1 cartoon where they went underground and noticed some of Cybertron's inner layers seemed organic?

Not to mention that in G1, Primus sorta kinda is Vector Sigma. It's only in TF:Cybertron/Galaxy Force that Primus chooses to use that Planet Cybertron as his physical body.

I don't regret watching BM. It had it's awesome moments, and the animation was pretty good. Then again, there were times where the plot seemed...strange. Adding the whole mystic/psychic Optimus thing to the storyline just didn't bode well with me.

I TOTALLY missed Beast Wars and barely remember Beast Machines when it was new. However, ROTF has me going back and checking everything out again. I've watched all of BM season 1 and half of season 2. As an original, loooong-time G1 fan, I think BM is AWESOME! The animation is better than any other TF show, the stories are WAY dark (which is cool), and I even like the techno background music (which shows it's age already! :P ). The first episode, in which Optimus interfaces with the Matrix, had my jaw dropping the first time I saw it. I just thought that whole scene was incredible.

I do agree with those statements, though. Optimus Primal seems more like a sensei than a military leader. As far as the organic Cybertron thing, I know many people didn't like that, but I'm a comic book fan so I'm very used to people retconning the origins every time a new series comes out. So, I view each new series as it's own entity. Even TFA...which I'm struggling to embrace...

I'll agree with this too. Beast MAchines pretty much got me interested in the story of Transformers again, despite it's failings. It's my favorite series as well, as even with its shortcomings it has more moments to think about than most all the other shows. Like, actual things to think about, not just continuity errors or plot holes or a graveyard supposing to be ingenius storytelling.
Realistically, Beast Machines is the original Live action film arguement. Like, 19 people just love it (myself included) and everyone else rips you up and down for liking something. So the next time you're in the movie forum and you dare not love the live action films and someone tells you you're on the bandwagon becuase it's somehow popular to hate ROTF or whatever, just tell them you're a Beast Machines fan.
