Tronus, a big factor in the new toys for Rhinox, Waspinator, and Rattrap is their being featured in IDW's Dark Cybertron storyline. At this point, Dinobot has not appeared in it and hasn't given any signs of him going to. The whole Generations Thrilling 30 line is a tie-in to the IDW G1 comics, and if someone like Dinobot were to be getting a new toy, it would be more than obvious to have him just as heavily featured in the comics. Yet, he is not featured at all in there.

Protoform X [Rampage] isn't in Dark Cybertron yet either,

...But he is a 2014 incentive figure.

Beast Wars Megatron isn't in Dark Cybertron yet:
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generations-classics-44/generations-beast-wars-megatron-fall-of-cybertron-grimlock-remold-176869/

...he is in the Transformers Legends Mobile Game - Beast Wars Event. The Mobile game is more important to Hasbro right now than IDW, this given the focus on the digital mediums.

Who else is in the Mobile Game? Dinobot :HEADHURTS: ...& I also haven't seen Protoform X, [Rampage], in anything as of late, including Dark Cybertron.

Saying it will likely not happen, or, it's slim, I cannot agree. IDW is not as important a priority, given, IDW is a paper based/hard copy 1st, & digitally distributed 2nd. Video Games, on consoles, PC/Mac, & Mobile are now more of a focus. You can expect the Hub's 2014 TF series to also be released on a streaming service & likely iTunes as well. The characters you said were in Dark Cybertron are all on the mobile, including BW Meg's and Dino', who are not in Dark Cybertron. Rampage - well, he is an incentive figure out of convienience.

It's not confirmed that Dinobot is coming, but it is likely to happen.

And a TCC exclusive, dude. The Club operates under its own agenda separate from Hasbro's plans. They can do whatever they want to so long as Hasbro approves. Your Rampage argument is invalid since he is not a Generations Thrilling 30 toy, nor even a mass retail figure at all.

Nor did that toy even come to pass. Stolen prototypes of unreleased figures can't help ya here.

Tronus_Rex wrote:...he is in the Transformers Legends Mobile Game - Beast Wars Event. The Mobile game is more important to Hasbro right now than IDW, this given the focus on the digital mediums.
And the mobile game event has nothing to do with that prototype toy since Megs is in his original Beast Wars body design in the game instead of the Grimlock body design.

Um, no.

There is not a single recent video game out of the market, and hasn't been since last year's Fall of Cybertron and Prime games.

And the mobile game being a priority... no, just no.

You do realize that comics are the biggest, longest-lasting medium of Transformers fiction, right? The fiction even began in comic form several months before the G1 cartoon ever even premiered. IDW's G1 comics have been running since 2005, that's eight years of a single ongoing story. Can you think of a single piece of non-comic Transformers fiction that has lasted as long or longer? Didn't think so.

The mobile game just does whatever it wants and runs with it. It is not a sign of things to come. At all.

Weapon: Electro-burst Rifle
I am hoping that they do come out with a new Dinobot, since he did win that Hall of Fame thing a while ago and he is an all around awesome character. Though he needs to be a voyager like Rhinox. That is the only way they can truly do him justice. The Classics version cheated way too much.

Hopefully he will appear in the IDW comics (which is the benchmark for the Thrilling 30 figures like Sabrblade said. How do you include a comic with a figure that does not appear in the comics?).

By Primus's brass bearings, Saber', get off this now, as for your no recent games comment, that's ignorant, it takes dev's years to make a game.

"Across our business, we are increasing our focus on our most important initiatives while right sizing our cost base," continued Goldner. "We have expanded our digital gaming capabilities with the acquisition of 70% of Backflip Studios, a profitable mobile game studio. Importantly, we are developing comprehensive and innovative lines for both film and television entertainment in the coming years, including TRANSFORMERS 4 in 2014 as well as MARVEL and STAR WARS entertainment from Disney in 2014, 2015 and beyond."

http://investor.hasbro.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=779208

Hasbro claimed that parents bought more mobile/digital - anything in 2012, which hurt Hasbro's sales. The focus is to more TF games as well as movies, [depending on success of TF4]. Hasbro may not have had any games on Console/PC since 2012, BUT THEY WILL PUT OUT MORE LATER. Why do you think Metroplex '13? I said it to you before, it was a game character. By the way, go look at what Fall of Cybertron is still selling for. It's still full price for Ultimate Ed. & standard. They cannot ask for that price unless demand is keeping it that high.

Edit: ADD
How many comics have sold in stores for IDW? It's nothing compared to the game sales & exposure they bring. Comic sales on paper/hard copy are small, & will only get smaller. Digital download though, IDW has a future there, like every publisher knows. This is why Hasbro is putting out the smaller IDW based figures. If sales for comics improve, Hasbro will give us more.

As much as I realise Tronus_Rex may be arguing a point which isn't there, there is no need for veterans of the site to complain about them or patronise them. ;)
At the same time, though, Tronus - please also avoid a patronising tone when discussing with other users.

The thread can be kept open to discuss, nicely, the potentiality of a Dinobot figure to appear in the near future, given the precedent of other beast-based modes part of the Thrilling 30th line.

I doubt it, for the reason givens above, but speculation is fine!

As for the games point, the new videogame is based on the Age of Extinction film, Metroplex is both a tie-in for the FoC game (which yes, was successful, no one is denying that!) and the IDW comics, including the current Dark Cybertron event. Also, as Sabrblade has pointed out, the mobile game has very little to do with Hasbro at all - except for the license.

To put it more clearly: the three current focuses are the movie line, with Age of Extinction, its toys and videogame; the Aligned continuity, with WfC, FoC and Prime; the IDW 'G1' continuity, from the -ations to Dark Cybertron. As an appendix, ReGeneration One, which has little influence on the other aspects of the franchise so far.

Sorry about my tone - I was just annoyed, as I felt, I was just stating why I disagreed, on something that is VERY subjective. To those that disagreed, I got the point, I was just trying to show why my was valid too. I did try to let everyone have their opinion in this. [I wasn't doing very well in this regard, was I?] We are all just talking about maybes - what Hasbro may be, or may not be planning. In this regard - no one really knows for certain. Those that disagree have reason to, & I have reason to my opinion.

[ Where I'm coming from, I work in a business that has to prove to, supposed "veterans", why a new "idea" or an IP, IS good/will draw money/sell. I frequently have to sell/pitch ventures, as well as, refute "cigar chomping", idiots, who try to tell "nOObs", like myself ;) , why said venture worth the risk & can make profit. "Nothing ventured/risked - nothing gained." I've lost money when "wiser" people, [who you'd think would know better?], have made claimed a thing must, "appeal to the casuals"/"a wider market/broader demographics. It's the same kinda crap that led to OO7's 1st screen appearance as an American named Jimmy in Casino Royal, a crap TV special. In just the last 5 years, I've made a small fortune, then lost it [also lived in my car & office], & made a larger fortune, back again, [now living in a big apartment over my new office]. ]

You all have good/vaild reasons to disagree with me, but, unless anyone here actually works for Hasbro, what do anyone of us know about the Dino' question? Until anything is confirmed, [& even then Hasbro could change it's mind after], we all have the right to our opinions on what Hasbro is doing. We're not the only fanbase that has petty arguments like this, either. Here is a friend, [mentor really], of mine commenting on an argument much bigger than ours: http://www.sfdebris.com/videos/doctorwho/dwupdatenov.php & http://www.sfdebris.com/videos/doctorwho/dwfound.php. In this example, which fits our minor "debate" ;) You'll see how even people who are very well informed on a topic, and have every right to think as they do, can be wrong.

Otherwise, no worries, I will let this go.

[By the way, it has been suggested more than once that another BW's Dinobot, could be confused with the classic dinobot team. Myself, I feel this point makes more sense than anything else pointed out to me.]

Really Vio', it's quite alright, a little butting of heads & minor conflict? It's normal thing for fandoms like ours. We didn't even get in to name calling, so this isn't bad enough to even consider closing the thread. I've seen forums turn FAR uglier, heck, I left the NBC owned Star Trek forums, years ago, because of stuff that would shock you. Someone might find what your searching for and post it, on this thread, after we all have forgotten.

By the way, check out my two links. It's very interesting. Otherwise I'm dropping the matter. Really, & no more appeals for me to let it go. I have, Vio', really I have. My posting is not out of hand :D

There was a Henkei Dinobot on ebay a couple months back, I think it went for around $130-ish. Lately they're closer to $150. Not a cheap toy these days! I'm sure if you keep it in your saved searches, it'll come around. Usually 2-3 a month show up, though the price isn't always right.

If you really need it right now, I'd shoot an email over to Transformerland, there's a good chance he's got one sitting around unlisted!

If you're still trying to find yourself a Henkei Dinobot, I did a little searching for you. Good news, I found a pair on eBay. Bad news, I hope your wallet is incapable of having heart attacks, as they're pretty steep. Here's the first one for about $125, and here's the second auction, and it's going for a whopping $200.

Youch, I guess I'm lucky I started collecting back when I did. I picked him up for around $40 but of course that was a couple years ago. Hopefully more of these will start showing up and the prices will drop.

I had no idea this guy would become quite so sought after, but I guess it makes sense since many (myself included) believe he's the best version of the character we've ever gotten in plastic, especially now with the Beast Wars figures we're getting in the Generations line. The time of "Classics Beast Wars" collections starting up is here I guess, assuming Has/Tak will continue the trend and give us more of our favorite beast-bots.
