Best and Worst Prime

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

Best and Worst Prime

Postby NiteStar » Sat Mar 29, 2008 2:28 am

Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
Who do you think is the Best and Worst Prime of all time? And why?

I think the Best Prime is G1 Optimus Prime aka Peter Cullen. He's Just a good plain ol American Hero. Noble, Brave, Fearless, Warm and Kind. Everything a Leader should be.

The Worst Prime I think is Rodimus. He's a Weenie! He completely just did not want to be a Leader and it showed.

I thought this was from the toys point of view but since we're talking characters I would have to agree with the ones you chose.

Sence you said "Prime" I guess Primal is out of the question but Rodimus, Omega, Nemesis, Vector, and Sentinal get to be tossed into the competition. (Just to name a few)

I supose being a Decepticon Nemesis Prime would technically be the worst but I'd rather toss my vote in for someone else.

Here's my list from worst to best.

Sentinal Prime (Animated): For being the douch bag of Cybertron and lazy as hell to boot.

Optimus Prime (Armada): For not knowing the names of his soilders, seemingly thinking he's Megatron, changing color schemes for no reason, and wearing another transformer as pants.

Optimus Prime (Energon): For being fat, looking like a Power Ranger Megazord, and useing another transformer as a full armor body suit ensuring he can't be harmed unless hit in the head.

Optimus Prime (Movie): Because he sent Bumblebee to Earth by himself to an alien planet full of Decepticons and didn't think to kill Megatron with the All Spark instend of himself before a human.

Nemesis Prime (Armada): For being a weird super powered form of Sideways that only appeared in one episode and then was never seen again.

Optimus Prime (RID): For being exstremly lazy.

Vector Prime (Cybertron): For being the worst guardian of time in the history of time.

Optimus Prime (Animated): For being slightly less of a douch than Sentinal Prime.

Rodimus Prime (G1 of course sence Energon isn't technically a Prime): Because he was a young inexsperienced leader and knew it.

Optimus Prime (Cybertron): For being associated with Fatimus Prime and Forgetimus Prime.

Optimus Prime (G1): For haveing a completly useless trailor that vanishes into thin air.

Omega Prime (RID, is there another Omega Prime?): For being the coolest combined form ever!

Agreed.........but have they called him "Prime" yet in the TFA serries????I know its supposed to be his name but I dont think he's been called it yet.

Whats wrong with pants ???

Did Prime know there were "Con's" on earth before he sent Bumblebee????

How dare you sir

Technecly yes but their the same toy.The toy molds were repainted and released as part of both the TF Universe toyline and the TF Cybertron toyline.

Weapon: Twin Independent Mounted Disruptor Rays
Strictly from a toy perspective I think my favorite visual prime is the PowerMaster Prime. If only the toy itself were more articulated.

My first runner-up is the '84 G1 Prime.
My second runner-up is the RID Prime.
My third runner-up is the G2 long nose tanker trailer Prime.
My fourth runner-up would be Cyberton Prime.

Fighting at the bottom as my least 2 favorite Prime toys would be Machine Wars Prime cause it does not have a Prime head.

My first runner-up is the Energon gestault option Prime.

Classics Prime, Armada Prime, Rodimus Prime, Action Master Prime, Vector Prime et al are middle of the pack.

I think the worst is the G2 Go-Bot (Spychanger) Optimus Prime. I don't even consider a Hot Wheels-style toy to be Optimus. At least the transparent version with the white head was called Firecracker. I kitbashed my Go-Bot OP by exchanging the yellow underparts for G2 Side Swipe's neon yellow parts. Now I have Spychanger Punch (made possible by Seibertron's Counterpunch who removed Punch's Decepticon side). I'll have a G1-colored Spychanger Side Swipe as soon as I get around to applying black paint to the yellow parts and head of "Optimus". So, in my opinion, the best thing to do with G2 "Spychanger Optimus" is to repaint it into Side Swipe and make Punch!

I'll vote on the best one after work.

*edit* here's a picture of the Optimus toy in question, scroll down.

Frome the shows I've seen: Original G1, RID, Cybertron, TFA:

Worst Prime character: :BOOM: Rodimus Prime season 3. MO Hot Rod was better suited. Don't seem to care for others regularly and if he didn't want to lead give the Matrix to Bumblebee.

Worst looking--TF:A #-o Gaugh, even if he weren't Prime, I'd still get sick at that art design...eyesore

Best Prime: Original G1 B-) =P~ B-) Neart top of list, liked the fact when he made mistakes he tried to make things right again. By and large he cared for his bots and humans.

I forgot about that one. There are so many Primes. It would supplant one of my others in the top 5 just not sure which one right now.

Again, too many Primes to think of in one 2minute response. The Spychanger Optimus is indeed an weak entry for the same reason the Machine Wars Prime was. It doesn't even have a Prime head and as you can tell that matters to me. It must to many or else Hasbro/Takara wouldn't keep using variations of that design.

Worst? I'd have to say RiD Optimus. He reeeeeeally gets on my nerves. Then again, so did that entire series.
Best...erm...maybe G1 Optimus. It would appear that he is the only one people give a crap about. I mean, honestly. Animated Prime got revived about one minute and thirty seconds after his derath. Although Armada Prime's death was probably the coolest, nobody actually cared. They cried more for Starscream.

I've not seen Armada except in small doses. Didn't know they killed him.

OMg that prime looks wierd. He has Sub-Woofers on his Shoulders.
I mentioned the whole Shoulder-Sub Woofer thing in another thread. That only seems logical for the new TF animated Soundwave.
But Yeah that prime is funny looking.

Primal, his name is Optimus Primal. There is no BM Optimus Prime unless you're talking about the holographic statue of G1 Prime that was seen in BM.

My bad! Now is he a Prime? Or is the name Primal just a connection to animals? Meaning he's still a Prime just a different way of referring to him?

Maybe i was to hard on the little guy. I think of Prime as a more imposing figure that's why i don't really care for this version.
