Here's an idea.
In lots of the prequel material and other TF media that describe Blackout having a symbiotic relationship with Scorponok.
Since it seems possible that Scorpy survived the film, is it possible that Scorponok could have the potential to revive Blackout's spark?
Just an idea that occured to me during my third round watching the film.

Anything's possible.
I have another Blackout question:
The scene right before Blackout attacks, one of the soldiers says that the chopper Blackout uses as his alt mode was shot down 3 months ago, but according to the novel the Decepticons had been on earth for a few years, i believe. Does that mean that prior to Blackout shooting down the chopper and using it for his alt mode, he infact had another alt mode before changing it to the chopper he used in the movie...?

I assumed they stayed in their cybertronian forms until they needed to change. The chopper probably discovered him and he shot it down and replaced it, thinking it wouldn't raise suspicion (sp?). They probably didn't realize at first that the humans pilot the vechicles.

I guess if we go by the prequel comic (which I assume we would because it's the same storyline) they've been here since 2003 and he assumed a helicopter form. Perhaps he changes it regularly to throw people off.

Hmm..i never read the prequal stuff, but it is odd.
I mean, if his protoform landed in the middle of the desert, then he had to wait for something to scan right?
he is so big, so the helicopter was the only form that could work for him

Yeppers, Starscream scanned a jet then shot it down. He is the only Decepticon in the prequel comic that you see get his earth form. Unlike in the movie, where the autobots look like naked robots, he was pretty detailed before he changed.
The prequels also delve more into Sector 7, and they aren't portrayed as the jokey types in the movie are. Much more serious, and a heck of a lot more secret!

I think it would be hard for something as big as Blackout to stay hidden since 2003 to now, in his Protoform. The only conclusion i can come up with is that he kept changing alt modes.

I thought the cons came by ship, therefore not needing their protoforms (making the starscream toy akward, though). Megs wasn't in his protoform and blackout could easily go into the upper atmosphere where nothing would find him. Clearly no one noticed the replaced helicopter for a couple of months either...
I've been wrong before though....

The "protoform" toys for the movie are what they looked like in the comics. So they weren't in Cybertronian alt modes when they came to earth. They all apparently got their earth froms immediately, but I'm not sure how they hid out all that time. It's all part of Transformers magic.
