PORTLAND, OREGON!!!!
Great beer in this state, the people are nice and don't smell too bad, and there are strip clubs everywhere (two of which are worth going to)!

I would like anywhere in Florida cause the weather is really nice there. I wouldn't mind going back up to RI again cause for me, that was a nice scenic drive. Chicago would be cool, never been there. I DO NOT want to go back to Cincy. That town is just weird. I've never seen so many bums on the street before. And I'm by Philly!! And of course, there's Philly. I would love for it to be there, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd probaby stay in the city only 1 night, but that doesn't mean I won't be out drinking with everyone each night. I'd still take off of work, just like I would for any Botcon and party it up with you folks.

[quote="Fender Bender"]You know, Madison, WI is a really nice city. We have the Monona Terrace Convention Center and Alliant Energy Expo Center. Plus, we have more bars in downtown than any other city. Plus, me have casinoes, amusement parks and strip clubs all at reasonable distances. Our 3 Targets, 4 Walmarts, and 1 Toys R Us are all easy to find too! You know you wanna hit up Madtown.

I was in Mad City back in 1992 for the GenCon Origins game fair. It is an awesome place for a convention. I would put Madison in the top 10 convention cities.
A word for New Orleans, I have not been there since the Hurricane disrupted it, but I took a road trip there not too long before that. I had to take a cab everywhere. And we had driven my Hummer there. Just no place to park anywhere. Really stinks for logistics, but was fantastic for entertainment value in the French Quarter.
If FunPub picked Florida they would make sure it is in a nasty city like Miami. Total concrete jungle there. They wouldn't pick Orlando because it it too nice and fun and mostly safe.

Sweet. Now if only Fun Pub would!

Did I mention the flight options? Madison, Rockford, Milwaukee, and Chicago are just the main ones.
Something else to consider, BBTS is IN Wisconsin and several stores (JRSToyworld, TFSource) are close too. Imagine how much each would bring with them if it were that close....
Plus, you know I'd throw a big Seibertron.com party. Hopefully by the time they do it, I'll have my own house though.

I agree I use BotCon as an excuse to see more of my own country. I like to arrive about 1-2 days early and site see the town. However, I do believe they are intending to keep it between the Rockies and the Appalachin Mts as much as possible. Rhode Island was a departure and I see at least one more midwest location before they branch back out to one of the coasts.
I see Chicago in our future men.
I need an excuse to get to Seattle so how about BotCon in 2010 there, huh?

Considering the 25th Anniversary and the second movie, I'd think Providence would be the perfect place since it's right near Hasbro itself. But, since they already had it there, I'd probably have to agree with CP; Philly'd be perfect, though it'd be splendid if it came out here to the west coast for once :3
Considering the amount of people they'll probably be expecting (hopefully they've learned their lesson this year >_> ) it'd have to be a major spot on the map. And if the hotels are too much, just shove seven people in a room like we did XD
Just as long as they avoid Cincinnati again. GOD that city sucked.

I think it would be great here in Seattle so I'm still putting my bid in for here.

Seattle, WA is actually a vetry nice city, my buddy was stationed in the Army not far from there. It's very green there, and at least when I was there not as rainy as advertised.
but it costs waaaaay to much to go in that blasted Space Needle.
Perhaps if the Con is in Philly the Convention set will feature the Mummerbots. 10,000 bonus points to the first person not from my area who gets that joke.

I'd love for it to be on Long Island(for obvious reasons) or Orlando. As for a theme, I can't possibly imagine what they'll churn out, but I can't wait to see how they top this years set.

Hey any reason to go to Pat's Steaks. Philly would be a great place to hold BotCon '09.
However, I realize it was just in RI, but there is a brand new convention center right in the center of Boston. Plus it being in Boston & the next movie there is a plethora theme possibilites.

I work in Long Island and I'd be against it being in Long Island.
For those of you who are wondering why...traffic.
Actually, Atlantic City would be a good place to have it, though my vote is still for Providence.

I can think of few places I'd be more againt than Atlantic City, and it's closer than all but a handful of cities from where UI live.
That place has bright lights and tiowering casions...
And lots and lots and lots of GHETTO.
It's either casino or sewer.
My friend Energon would definitely not approve!

The information that I was able to get suggests that it wil nto be in providence again and it will not be in June. So I guess BOTCON 2009 will not feature Transformers 2, unless we are just shown some before actual release date footage. It looks like the convention will be in April like last year/2008 and will be in a new location. Who knows, I could be mistaken. What do you guys think?

Re: Botcon 2009: Suggested location(s) and theme(s)
I hope it's not in April.
I won't be able to make it since I made plans and commitments to attend PyrateCon in New Orleans.
Grr... too many cons and events, not enough time! Why can't they schedule these events at better times! UGH!
Well, I wouldn't mind Chicago again. I enjoyed myself at OTFCC back in 2003. Granted it was held at the Hyatt in Rosemont and had a MASSIVE convention center next door that was not used.
I've been to a few hotel and convention centers in Chicago.
This place, however, sounds promising. Considering how large Reenactor Fest grew, it needed a larger place. And the Sheridan that Reenactor Fest had been located at for the past couple years is pretty large. Image a place twice as large now.
Westin North Shore is suppose to be massive to my understanding. And from the images... it looks it! Especially to hold an event like Reenactor Fest with it's incredibly amounts of historical reenactors and historian, the massive amounts of sutlers and vendors (Usually two large ballrooms worth), a huge ball, and more.
So, perhaps if they return to Chicago... Westin North Shore might be a good place to start. Considering the room rate with Reenactor Fest 5 is just slightly over $100 a night. Pretty good in my opinion.
Westin Chicago North Shore
Besides, if one looks and deals rather well, you can get room rates around $100 a night for a fine hotel for conventions. Hopefully keep costs down since most will pay an arm and a leg for admission or membership of a convention (way over priced in some conventions from what I've seen).
Tis worth a look into I suppose if back in Chicago. The deals are out there.

Funny, not that I'd get my hopes up, but I am California more accurately Anaheim. In fact I can see the Convention center from my balcony. What fun that would be. "come park at my place we'll walk over." hehehehehe
Like I said a nice thought but not very probable.

I thought the con was supposed to be in July. April would be awful because my awesome teenage offspring were planning on going with me this time. I could care less about TF2 which I think is going to pale in comparison with TF1 by all the rumors that are out there.
If they put this in April and still have not posted anything about dates and location with only 6 months to go, that would really stink. People need time to make plans.

I get the feeling it's going to be in the West Coast next year.
Phoenix, Arizona would be a good area to hold the convention. I'd love it if it was in Phoenix as I would be able to just drive to the convention center.
