Where is your confusion? They show Beast Megatron's head on what is clearly RID Megatron's body at the end of that clip. If they DON'T actually do this much anticipated figure after that tease, there's going to be hell.

Well just last year instead of finally releasing a G2 General Prime, they instead paid homage to that concept by painting the roadbuster toy.
Or even better, they did something just like this a few years back by taking the abandoned 3H concept of Alpha Trion as a Lion and implementing it in a more recent lion toy.
They could easily do the same thing this time and say "to honour that concept, here is the Beast Fire Predaking mold with this Megatron deco". There is actually more evidence due to precedence that they would do that instead of using the older mold.
Fun Pub has stated that its easier to use more recent molds but I guess for something this special, it could be the actual RID mold. Still, it's not like Fun Pub never dissapointed before. Our expectations should be in check.

Here's another possibility, I'm surprised nobody thought of this yet:

The best thing about this is that this head is built into the mold, saving FunPub resources should they go that route.

Now I just wonder which version the club will use, the 6 mode version or the 10 mode one? I would hope it would be the 10 mode one since that's the one the U.S used for RID Megatron.

The 10 mode one. Though, the snout required for the mold's Bat Mode was removed to make room for the new head, but while the toy can still assume that configuration, it looks less convincing with the snout piece missing.Seibertron wrote:Robogeek1973 wrote:Considering the chest is the RID/CR Megatron/Gigatron chest, I feel comfortable expecting this guy to be the TM3 Megatron that uses that mold.

Which one was used for BotCon 2005 Deathsaurus / Deszaras?

Plus, wouldn't it be gutted of electronics, since funpub doesn't do electronic gimmicks?
That Bot wrote:They used what appears to be new artwork in this video for Megatron, based on this hypothetical toy. They didn't just show his head, they didn't reuse old art, they used NEW ART that they had to commission. I admit to not paying a whole lot of attention to club and botcon affairs since I'm not a member and have never gone, but that seems a bit of an unnecessary expenditure if they aren't planning to follow through.

Sabrblade wrote:Up until now, the exclusives for this year suggested that this year's story would be set in a pre-Beast Wars setting like 2006's story was. But now, with this video seemingly implying the presence of a post-Beast Wars-set figure, I'm beginning to wonder if the story might actually be set sometime after Beast Machines. Maybe even after the Universe War, during the DoFP epilogue that we got a glimpse of on the final page of the 2006 comic. This would suggest that the boxed set toys might be upgraded body forms of the Council, Tarantulas and Ravage. While both Ravage and Tarantulas died in the BW cartoon, they were both resurrected in 3H's "Primeval Dawn" comics and, while Ravage's fate was left unknown due to 3H going under before "Primeval Dawn" could be concluded, Tarantulas was alive during the Universe War and could have survived its events. And since Ravage's fate wasn't made known, this new story could possibly confirm his survival as well, leading to both him and Tarantulas being upgraded into their combiner bodies. And if this were to be a post-Universe War story, that could explain some of the non-boxed set exclusives being G1/G1-related characters instead of Beast Era characters since the Universe War had some G1 guys take part in it.

The 2016 Souvenir "centerpiece" item & the non-Combiner Wars Maximal were NOT made in large quantities. These WILL sell out at the show.
We fully expect both items to be sold out by, at the latest, Friday afternoon - maybe earlier.
Yes, there will be some Combiner Wars Maximals available for sale at BotCon!
5 CW molds in the boxed set, four Deluxes and the 1 Voyager
1 CW Deluxe attendee figure with a new headsculpt
1 CW Deluxe custom class figure with an "alternative" headsculpt, and who is a 1984-1985 G1 character rather than a BW character
1 CW Legends as the troop builder set, and as the GT figure who is a non-BW character related to a familiar G1 character
1 CW Deluxe souvenir figure
1 non-CW mold "centerpiece" souvenir figure
1 non-CW mold other souvenir figure
And one of the souvenirs (not the centerpiece?) has a non-U.S. headsculpt.

In the defense of this year's warnings, though, Pete posted this on The Allspark as a heads up:william-james88 wrote:I just want to say that Botcon said the exact same thing last year regarding how small the volume would be. They were really adamant about it too. And it turned out there were still sets and figures available all week-end long.
While I don't doubt the second statement, the first one has me a little concerned if the Golden Ticket people all buy up 3x the limit they can buy of the centerpiece figure on the first day.Last year the AVERAGE quantity for the souvenirs was 1500. This year, the average of what will be available at BotCon is 1060.
Yes, we are gonna sell out of some, if not all the items available at BotCon.

I dunno, we're still 2 moths out, and they're packaged in bags, I guess if they notice people are being scalping douches/buying for friends, they could theoretically crank out some more
