Prime Evil wrote:Oooh, tough call indeed!! Are ya planning on getting the exclusives at botcon? Because they usually only go up in value...except last year's set and the 2005 set. But a laptop will usually always be available. But what is more your passion? For me, I've been needing a new laptop for the past...4-5 years, but I haven't had the need for one because I just use it for internet. So it's TF toys for me. But NEXT YEAR, I'm definitely getting a mac book. Once summer is done, (conventions, vacation, uber bad ass FansProject toys) I'll be able to toss money towards that.

Burn:Anyone notice how much of a boring party pooper N_V is? He doesn't join in the fun, he's spent the last few years with dodgy builds feeding XP to the Autobots, and he sure as heck doesn't spam.

Prime Evil wrote:So I guess you'll have to decide once registration goes up huh? Well, the good news is that they have been so late it's given ya a lot of time to really think about it. The bad new is that they have been so late it's given ya a lot of time to really think about it.
Hey, you're birthday is 1 day before mine!!Botcon has been a self birthday present to myself the the past 3 years. I'm going on year 4 now and I can't think of a better way to spend it. I can give you the pluses of Botcon, and I'm sure you already know the pluses of getting a new laptop.
First and most importantly are the friends you make at Botcon. My first one was because of the toys, but the botcons after that, I go for the people I have met. There is just something about hanging out with a group of people that, well, are very similar. I mean besides being TF fans, we are all kinda sci fi geeks, gamers, comic book readers all in one package. Conversation is NEVER dull and I find it so refreshing to speak to everyone no matter what topic we are on. Two, the toys, yes, the ever exclusive toys that we see on ebay for insane amounts can actually be purchased at it's lowest point with the con set, the convention add-ons, and then you're freebie figure!! I think this year's set will be as good as 2007-2008. Three, the hasbro panel and well, all the panels that you want to see. I looove the hasbro panel. I love that we get a sneak peak at what lies ahead for the brand/franchise before anyone else. Back in the day, you were able to post pics online what was shown, not anymore. Now we get to see all the goodness months before anyone else. Love it. Fourth, the guest voice actors. My first year there I met Peter Cullen. Got him to sign my TFC #00. I cherish that piece in my collection. I also got a pic with him. For me, since I'm a geewunner, was a very important person in my life. If I had a second father figure, it was Cullen's voice and his iteration of Prime. Fifth, the dealer room. I'm pretty much caught up with what I need, at least I say that almost every year, but damnit, you're in the room where plastic crack is oozing out of every crevice and hole. Glorious, glorious plastic crack!! Sixth, and this is new, but we are entering the very first Transformers Hall Of Fame. So for me, I want to be there when these characters will be inducted. I want to be there when Cullen gets inducted. This will be a new special moment for me that I don't think I can really wrap my head around yet.
So maybe I can sway ya to come on out to Botcon, but I totally understand if ya can't make it out because yes, a new laptop will provide you with a completely different path. Not wrong, just different. That sounds more like a career decision and is just as important if not moreso.
