Hey everyone,

Not sure if this has been posted yet but here is a pic of what Megs will look like in the new cartoon.

I think it has, but I'm too lazy to go look.

He has that sort of 'samurai' look to him.

That would be his "Earth" form.

Megatron will apparently have a Movie-esque body and head at the beginning of the series, but will eventually end up in this body.

this is like a really bad gundamn wing character crossed with samurai jack! poor megatron, as if his self esteem wasnt low enough from getting killed by a human, now they go and turn him into a retarded 4 year olds drawing

i for one will not back this series up!

I agree about it sort of looking like samurai jack...Megatron looks the best so far in my opinion...Screw it Megsie looks hot curse me having a little crush on every Transformer! That's what it seems like...Megsie looks pretty bad arse though about to hurt Starscream kick some Autobot arse and rule the fricken world yes he is ready to lead! The world is Megsie's oyster until the Autobots save the day then it turns into a big snotty oyster scented world "sniff" it makes me cry! Every Megatron gets put down by the Autobots like the many before him "sigh" I think the new transformers won't be the best but certainly not the worst

I just hope he turns into a gun no a pistol! awesome!

Amen! dont knock the new series till you've seen it. So what if some of the characters look a little wonky. If the characters are well developed who cares?

I'm against him being a gun because I hate the whole mass shifting thing. I'd like them to make him an artillary cannon (like Galvatron), a rocket launcher (vehicle sized, not a shoulder version), even a tank. Anything that doesn't force him to shift from handheld to gigantic. I like the look of the gun but it just rubs me the wrong way when they have them change sizes.

I'm slowly opening up to this show just because I'd much rather have good characterization and a fun story than awesome art with no substance. The only thing I have a real issue with on this Megatron design is the sword. Really.... why a sword? Energy weapons make some semblance of sense.. but a 20ft katana?

Well I like the fact that megatron uses a sword, I kinda wish it wasn't a plain generic katana.

It would've been better if he used a larger sword like somthing along the lines of Guts's sword. It fits his character more.

Though I do dig the body design.

Yeah. Something about Megatron screams "claymore" or "zweihander". Some big honkin' two handed monstrosity meant more for chopping brutally than slicing. Maybe a no dachi, but a katana? That's just silly.

Now Animated Prowl I can totally see using katanas or something. Ninjato, maybe, seeing's how he's a ninjabot.

EDIT: I actually prefer the idea of an actual material melee weapon as opposed to something like an energy sword. One would think a 20' sword would be a much more useful and efficient weapon than a 20' energy sword. That energy's gotta come from somewhere. Though, maybe Megs uses a really long extension cord...

but his gun form is so smexy lol jk about the smexy part but I mean his gun form was so cool sure it was weird that he was so big and transformed into a little gun but it was a cool transformation

I absolutely love the shape and transformation into a gun. I just don't like the mass shifting thing. If he stayed a GIANT gun that would be perfectly fine. It's still a bit silly to be a giant gun with a huge trigger that only king kong could wield... well maybe he could...

I just think he'd be better off as an artillary cannon or something along the lines of Galvatron than the pistol shape. If they go with a tank that's perfect as well. I just prefer they avoid mass shifting.

The movie smartly (in my oppinion) avoided it with Frenzy. They let him start small and when he was damaged he got a smaller shape. I thought that was brilliantly done. I like that they were able to adjust their transformations as they needed to. I loved that Bumblebee and the others could decide a new shape was more "efficient" or asthetically pleasing and take a new shape.

There were a lot of things about the movie I hope they take into the other series.

However I do hope Megatron isn't a ship. I'd almost rather he was a gun than a ship... hrrmm...

I guess I'm thinking too 'earthy' about a giant metal katana. It just doesn't seem like it would do that much damage to a thick metal torso. Of course, if you factor in 'cut through anything' physics then it would be fairly effective. Though I'm not sure how willing networks would be to lob off limbs. I guess it depends on what group they're going for. Cartoon Network sometimes does try to push the censors, and I've heard people say they won't let their kids watch the channel because of it.
