...Wuggle?

You know, if Something Awful were to ever stop by, this forum would probably escape the Weekend Web if not for the comments of certain individuals. Despite the traditional warning to new users, this forum really doesn't contain very many nuts, particularly when compared to the Internet at large.

Starscream is a great character, but it just seems a bit much at times...

I am getting tired of all the different Transformer universes. Change the series, create new and old characters, but try to keep them in the same story line or universe (at least for a while).

The Star Wars franchise doesn't seem to have the multiple universe problem. I have been to the Star Wars forums and read a lot of the posts and in the Star Wars universe, when somebody kicks the bucket, they are usually dead forever. No alternate universes to bring the characters back, at least not any official ones. When the characters do come back, it is usually through some extraordinary means, and even then it usually is not with their physical body, but as a ghost. The only one I have heard of actually coming back, was Emperor Palpatine, and that was through transfering his soul into clones.

Yes, maybe the Japanese had the right idea with their handling of the later G1 serieses... except the whole pretty much dumping all the charecters from the previous series thing.

I'm not tired of *any* character, I just want more characters

Homages to non-traditional G1s would be awesome too. ENER-Slugslinger was pretty cool; I didn't like CYB-Repugnus, but it was nice someone decided to make one.

New homages for Triggerhappy, Trailbreaker, Octopunch, Sureshot, Spinister would be appreciated.

i think it would be cool to have a new line of mini-cons in their own set. larger, super-poseable and highly detailed. i would also love to see ruination done as an alternator set. you could use an oshkosh army truck for mega-octane, an army hummer for rollbar, an m1-abrahms for armorhide. a blackhawk for ro-tor and for movor there is an awesome lifting body design, the x-33 i think, it's the same design they used for mini-con sonar, but it's a real design. there is so many cool characters, somebody mentioned punch/ counterpunch for one, they could go for ten years w/out making another optimus, megatron or starscream, and nobody would miss them.

Over and over and over and over again, everytime they do a Freaking Megatron, they have to repaint him and call him Galvatron..

Yep. I love Galvatron as a character but it has long been tiring of him being nothing more than the charged up Megatron. In the movie at least they were two different people. I don't mind the repaints so much as the lack of an improved characterization.

#1 Optimus Prime & Megatron News flash the was only one op & megs Op transformed into a truck & megs a gun thats it you would think they could think up some new names by now.

What I would like to see is a continuation (Sort of) of G1 where some transformers (That did not go to Earth) go in to deep space Looking for Energon there comrads or a new place to live.... whatever just make a new leader for both factions caus Op & Megs exist so... "Use Your Imagination"

Excellent *taps fingers like Mr. Burns*. ;)^ :PEACE:

And ya know what? It wouldn't be all that hard to do either. Remold the legs of an existing Prime, add a weapon that breaks into a few different pieces tbat clips onto/ slides over the arms, and a con symbol and a few paint aps, and boom, Guiltor is born. Or heck, they don't even have to remold the legs, just stick a few paint aps and some new weapons. After all, Guiltor is the original Con Prime(in a sense), none of this black repaint stuff. *Guiltor gushing done for a while*

And I think I'm getting a little tired of G1 Mirage homages too. Yes, he's pretty cool, but they've done upteen versions of him, and they are all essentially the same alt. and robot mode wise. I thought the Machine Wars version was fine already, the Robotmasters made it better, and I don't really see why they needed a Classics version when I'm sure a new mold of Hoist or Silverstreak or Sunstreaker would have been much preferred.

I would add I wouldn't mind Galvatron and Megatron being the
same character if they would just release NEW toy an all NEW all different mold or just a slight remold,
with a new head and/or a face. I'm tied of seeing Megatron with a new coat of paint called Galvatron.

Duke of Luns wrote:Hot Rod repaints of Hot Shot: Yeah, I don't see the point. If they wanted to make an homage to Hot Rod, why not just make a brand new figure like they did with Rodimus?

Agreed 100%! I hated Hot Rod/Rodimus 20 years ago, and still hate him now... and I hate it how every single red sports car transformer has to be some sort of Rodimus homage.

In the last year, I've had to put up with Cybertron Excellion, 6" & 3" Titanium Rodimus, Kiss Player Rodimus and Classics Rodimus. That's five times the same character in a single year... the little pissant should just get his own toyline if this keeps up...

I'm also really really sick of every construction vehicle TF being repainted neon-puke-green and given a construction-name. Case in point, the E-Constructicons who, for the most part, were already in the Constructicon colour scheme, get repainted again for Classics. Thankfully, Cybertron Landmine and Mudflap escaped that fate... for now.

As for the topic of the thread, can I just say all of Armada, Energon, Cybertron, and Primus as TV shows? The dialog bites. The storyline bites. There are quite a few nice toys in the line. There are some interesting conceptual ideas that should have been done better (like connecting Minicons and Nebulons.) I wonder if there's some issue with violence on children's cartoon shows that make these shows blow so much.

One more thing I wonder about is if Hasbro uses all the same names for copywrite reasons. It may be easier to keep and maintain existing copywrights than to get together a whole bunch of new ones. (Isn't this part of the reason Classics Rodimus is called that instead of "Hot Rod"?)

I just figured it was the site choking on his terrible spelling.

As for the names you are spot on, Far cheaper to use an existing name, and it also stops them from accidentally becoming gobots/he-man/etc names when they lapse.

I guess I'm a bit tired of seeing the 'Prowl' name and character thrown around hither and thither. I really liked the G1 character, but for awhile we had so many Prowls... And none of the toys or characters seemed to be very good. Give me a CLASSICS Prowl, and for certain I am looking forward to Titanium 6 inch (hopefully WWI) Prowl...

And now that I think about it, did Cybertron have a Prowl? I don't think it did? Yes.

I'm a bit tired of the Hot Shot character myself...

I don't understand yur argument at all.

The different molds for Cheetor are the original (that's when he was just a normal cheetah), the TM version (metalic cheetah with side jets. this mold was changed slightly for Armada to suport a Mini-con), TM2 (the worst toy I've ever seen and I never liked that version of him on the series either), Mega BM (A mega sized toy from the BM line that had a verry flimsy transformation and a tail weapon that looks nothing at all like his swords in the show), Ultra BM (A much larger, more exspencive version of BM Cheetor but it was probly worth it just because that one was more show accurate than any other toys from that line), and Night Slash (the delux version from BM that was painted black and looked like a better Ravage than Cheetor. Except for the color it was still more show accurate than the larger Mega version)

Oh and I allmost forgot the Botcon Cheetor that turns into a car. so alltogeather there are 7 completly different Cheetor molds and at least 3 of them were repainted into Tigatron. That's all Tigatron is, a Cheetor repaint, so what difference does it make if they keep making Cheetors or Tigatrons?

It did, but only as a couple of minicons, if the pics on this site are correct. I do not remember seeing any other versions, and by the time Universe came around I was back into heavy collecting.

I'm a bit tired of the Hot Shot character myself...

Amen to that!!!! 2 versions of him in Cybertron, if I'm not mistaken (not conuting the Legends toys)

Hmm, I guess I was kind of unclear. Ok, I am aware that Tigertron is just a repaint of Cheetor, that's true. However, the original Tigertron figure has only been issued once in each region(U.S. and Japan, for example). Cheetor on the other hand has had four different releases of the same figure(the ones listed), and that paint jobs on those four figures aren't drastically different, and certainly not enough to warrent four different releases, in my opinion.

What I'm saying is I wish they would have re-released Tigertron, because he is kind of hard to find(I think, there are none E-Bay right now). So instead of re-releasing a hard to find/expensive character/figure, they re-release a character/figure who is relatively easy to find.

So, did I make myself clearer, or are you more confused now?
