I have to say that there's a huge difference for being a celebrity for being productive (i.e, making thought-provoking movies, or creating a catchy song) and being a celebrity so other people can laugh at your foolishness.

Unfortunately, that latter category seems to be an increasing career field these days. The only reason Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Chris Crocker are around is because we love to hate them, and they've figured out a way to capitalize on it, whether they do it consciously or not.

Quite frankly, I think I'd blow my brains out if I was Chris Crocker. The entire world is laughing AT you, Chris, not with you, and no amount of hair extensions or lip gloss is going to hide you from it.
