Classics Hoist and Trailbreaker WIP

Postby Sculpt-Bot » Thu Mar 22, 2007 4:34 pm

I was looking for a cheap way to expand my Classics line, and Cybertron Red Alert and Cannonball took the brunt of it. I think they turned out okay, and look good standing next to the rest of the classics. I need to slap another coat of paint on Hoists windows, and put a lightbar back on him (the exposed head in alt mode is VERY visible once the lights have been removed.) Trailbreaker needs a few more paint apps, and decals for the sides of the truck, and a solution for his visible head syndrome. I will post pics of TBs alt mode once the decals are done. Enjoy!

if you have classics Bumblebee, they stand a little taller than him. And I do think this mold would be cool for an Ironhide repaint too, Evilratbat. After seeing what you and the guys here can accomplish, I don't doubt anything!

Energon Towline is still the best figure for Ironhide, if you can find one. However, For Hoist and trailbreaker, CYbertronRed Alert and Cannonball are definately a good choice. The only thing I would have done diffeently is I would not have painted the windows opaque like you did. i don't know which you used for which, but if you used Red Alert for Trailbreaker, you could have had clear red windows instead of the opaque ones, and that would have looked much better. I don't know what color Cannonball's windsows are though.

TBs windows are actually the same, but for some reason, when I stripped the paint with the alcohol, it "smoked" the plastic. Cannonballs' windows were purple, so that is why I went with the opaque look, which I do usually try to avoid.

I'm planning a Trailerbreaker of my own with that mold. The Hoist is interesting. Head looks awesome and the bot mode is wonderful, but the alt mode doesn't work that well for me.

Well, I don't think he's done with them yet. It looks like Hoist still needs some side-walls for the truck bed.

Wow, I never would have thought of stuff like this. I think Tramp is right, but otherwise these guys look fantastic!
