I on the otherhand hope it is real...they just saved me $300+ if the figure is really gonna look that bad

That's a really nice repaint, actually. I think it works with the silver, and the jet mode still says "real jet" rather than "primary coloured villain" with all that grey.

I just hope the actual exclusive doesn't go too determinedly 'cartoon accurate' by making him the same baby blue as the Robotmasters version.

Well, at least he looks like crap!

Now I don't feel so bad.

I ordered another StarScream this weekend and got a bunch of emsnil, I'm gonna go right off the Robot Master version.

Incidentally, the proper blue for the original Thundercracker toy can be described as ultramarine.

The Robot Masters version is much lighter.

Could be legit. Dirge is blue as well, and they are possibly trying to avoid seeming to scam everyone by having two identical looking jets in the set. Not that they can really hide their con act anyway.

Ever since these assclowns took over the Convention, it's been a total ripoff, anyway. Repaints of $10 figures that are clogging toy shelves near you for 500% profit per figure. 'Souvenir' figures that complete the assrape by insuring you'll go to the convention, so you get to go see the world's largest ball of twine.

Sorry Master Collector, I'll just buy some of the Ramjets and Starscream's filling the peghooks near me and create my own Seeker set for around $60. Dillholes.

I'm glad you ranted, but if you had took the time to read the post you would have seen that it is confirmed as a fan repaint and not a BotCon figure.

For your viewing pleasure, What Classics Thundercracker should actually look like IMHO:
Ohh and Dirge would need to have yellow almost copper like colored Wings so he would be far from looking like Thundercracker.

Bug Bite is a white repaint of Bumblebee.

If you look further down the page, someone did the black/blue repaint of Skywarp into Thundercracker. I'm not sure if Dirge will be a new mold or not but hopefully Thrust will at the very least a different mold. He had those unique wings and always kind of stood out from the other seekers.

My guess Thundercracker will use the Skywarp deco with his own colors. Dirge will be a straight Ramjet Repaint, and Thrust will have new wings. Dreadwind is speculated to be a Jetfire repaint over on the club forums and Bugbite is of course a white Bumblebee repaint.

Who knows what the extras or attendee freebie will be, but I'd make a bet Sunstorm is one of them, and probably a selection of Autobots. We'll find out when Botcon kicks off.

Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp were recolors of each other.

While Dirwe,Thrust and Ramjet had mold alterations to make them unique.
Most notably on the Wings of each.
Dirge had copper like wings that had the tips pointed upwards.

Ramjet had the brown wings that were slightly angled downwards at the tips.

While Thrust had the most remolding done, with the Fans and the rear smaller tail fin structure extended farther out from the body.

With that said, I would guess Dirge could conceivably be a repaint of classics Ramjet, while Thrust needs its own mould with the fanned wings and rear tail fin moulding.

I'm not anticipating any new Autobots for the Classics anytime soon. The line so far has been pretty Autobot heavy so this gives the line a chance to catch up. Unfortunately most collectors will not be able to fill out the line unless they have extra money sitting in their bank accounts, waiting to line the pockets of ebay profiteers.

I'll make a couple of bets here. The obvious is that Thundercracker will be a strict re-paint of Starscream and Skywarp (hopefully with a more show accurate paint scheme than the guesses I've seen here so far. The black and blue Thundercracker is pretty neat, but too much black in my opinion.)

Here's the sticky ones. Despite what should be done, I'm betting that:

Dirge will be a strict re-paint of the Ramjet mold. No alteration of the wings, just blue body and beige wings with appropriate accents.

Thrust will be a repaint of the Starscream/Skywarp mold with the only mold change being the Ramjet conehead. He will be red. Perhaps a paint scheme that implies thrusters in the wings, but I'm betting there will be no re-mold of the wings to include the vertical thrusters.

This is what I am betting for Dirge and Thrust. Any takers? This guess is based off of what they did a few years ago with Ironhide/Ratchet and what they could have done making a few minor mold changes, which they did not do.

Well one thing that the exclusives are good for is getting at least minor re-moulds. I could see Dirge and Thrust getting new wings from the Ramjet mould. Bugbit I doubt would need any remoulding and I can't see dreadwing getting any special treatment. I would guess that the figures outside of the five piece set will get some re-moulding. kind of like Darksyde Megatron.

Classic Starscream looks like G1 Starscream, Classic Skywarp looks like G1 Skywarp...that looks nothing like G1 Thundercracker...needs more blue less black.

I'll have to find some pics of the Darksyde Megatron.

The problem I see is that changing Ramjet into Dirge would require more than a minor mold change. The wing engines are rather a large part of how Ramjet transforms, and I think the changes necessary might be more work than I have seen in the few remolds I have found pics of.

Maybe Thrust will be easier to remold the wings. Then I wonder if the transformation will have wings that fold up like Starscream or stay more static, being cartoon accurate.

I'll still stand by my predictions for now. :D

[edit] Okay, comparing Darksyde Megatron to Red Alert, the only remold I notice is the head. Am I missing something else? I thought these Botcon Exclusives had very minor, if any, mold changes. Which is why I predicted what I did.

Tried it. Hated it. The conehead thing never really did it for me (too Go-Bot-ish), and the absense of useful hands and the...*ahem* "codpiece" sorta ruined it.

O.k so he's not really the best Seeker mold. But just to show you how much i care, i give you Classics *ah* *hum* Green Seeker.
